Something random, unexpected. Rob a bank for example, that should cause excitement.

P.S. Try and make it big; I'm planning my own bank heist and I need to see what happens when the shit hits the fan.;)

you feel stuck in a rut because there are parts of your life you are ignoring.

you sit down for an hour and jot down things that are important to you and things that you want to accomplish in your life. identify those areas that you have left out.

maybe you should be going to school. if you are in school maybe its the wrong major. maybe you need to change jobs or get training for a job that fits your interests better.

maybe you are working TOO hard and need to balance out your life with more off time fun. making more time for the better things in life might be just what you need.

if you werent dating, i would suggest that you start looking for a nice girl to go out with. lack of a love life can make life seem very stale.

perhaps there is just something outrageous that you really really want to do but you think its impossible so you dont even try it. run for parliment, swim the channel, go on pop idol (do y'all still have that show?) whatever. holding yourself back from your big dream makes life seem rather pointless.

realizing that you are in a rut is the first step toward getting the hell out of it. life is too short to waste time doing stuff that doesnt mean anything to you.

It's your birthday on Wednesday. That will be fun for you. :)

Birthday's aren't fun when you don't have any one to celebrate with. Then B-Day becomes the most depressing day of your life, or at least the year.

fuck knows... thats all i have too - only questions. no answers.

i've felt this way for some time now. been clinically depressed for the previous two academic years at uni, and this year i've gotten better but as good as things get its all the same, and always will be. not exactly the same as they are now, but always relatively the same. i don't know...

thanks for taking me seriously and trying to help in earnest :)

and i can't imagine what i'd be like without glitziness...

Try doing something very new, very fun and very, very pointless, like bungy jumping. That way it's a fresh experience, you enjoy it and there's no reason to it except for a little excitement.

could certainly really do with a good holiday or getting away from everything for a few days. would love to go on a weekend break to amsterdam or something, but i am lothe to go alone :(

I love the lie and lie the love
A-Hangin' on, with push and shove
Possession is the motivation

Looks like we always end up in a rut (everybody now!)
Tryin' to make it real — compared to what?
C'mon baby
Feel you're stuck in a rut? I know the feeling... There is at least two options: Hang on and try to ride it out (change will come), or try to change things for yourself.

And don't worry too much - it seems that Glitziness will be there for you. You're lucky like that.

But good luck anyway - it'll get better :)

what can you do when you feel your life is completely stuck in a rut and all the same?

Well...It's springtime. Find a job in a different country or different part of your country for the summer. You'll get to see a different country or area, meet new people and gain a bit of experience from a different job and money-wise you'll probably break-even or even come back home with a bit of money at the end of the summer. At this time of year there are always summer-hotels and touristy places hiring.

*bursts out into song*
Every breath you take
Every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take
I'll be watching you

Every single day
Every word you say
Every game you play
Every night you stay
I'll be watching you

O can't you see
You belong to me
How my poor heart aches with every step you take

*ahem*

sorry;)

Anyway, you might want to find a new hobby or maybe pick up a class at your local uni...maybe find a good book (god knows I could suggest a half dozen), or find something you've always wanted to do but never have (skydiving?)

Anyway, hit me up if you need anything

Where in France? When? I might get a chance to find you and be an annoying third wheel popping up at the most inopportune moments, till you guys find a way to ditch me. Probably by distracting me with something else.

Dear PM

Firstly, have some cake and some fudge. (always a good place to start)
I know what it is like to be stuck in a rut, and I suspect that you also feel guilty about feeling like this because you have glitzy, I have four suggestions.
1. Try to spend less time inside, especially now the weather is nicer. A bit of sunshine does wonders for your mood, as it actually has some chemical effect as well as just being nice. If you can, go for a walk, as excersize also releases chemicals that make you feel better.
2. Maybe, as others have suggested try doing a course at college, even if it is something that is not academic and is just for your own personal pleasure (more especially in fact)
3. Do some voluntary work, m aybe help out at a youth club, or at a charity or something, on the Island we have envoronmental organisations that you can volunteer to go and do something that will help the community, it will give you a feeling of acheivement AN get you outside AND give you an opportunity to meet different people in a non threatening envoronment.
4. Think of a goal, something that you would like to acheive, and plan how you will do this, make realistic attempts to work towards it and then maybe you can change your life for the better and get something positive from feeling like this.

By the way, it's OK to feel like this, lots of people do. The first step is to STOP beating yourself up about it.

Big hugs from across the sea

Cari

From experience, I can tell you it is entirely possible to get stuck in a rut over being stuck in a rut.

EDIT: Woot! 2000th post! ^__^
