Ahh, the sweet warmth of the summer sun, the knowledge that the semester is ending.. I just finished my last actual class towards my Masters, and am going to be researching my thesis this summer. Anyone else in the same boat or have any experience in this area? I am sure there are some good stories and/or tips out there.

Discipline. Self discipline. You have to make yourself sit down and write something, anything, every day. Otherwise, before you know it, the summer has gone and the thesis is still on page 3.

I agree, if nothing else, find a source every day.. The rule of thumb is 1 source per page, and you are looking at what, 80 pages? That equals 80 sources... Hard to do... Good luck..

The length depends on where he is doing it. I am writing my thesis here in Brazil, and it can be up to 300 pages (and in Portuguese). So the other advice is to write it in your first language if possible.

Master of Arts in Political Science (emphasis in health care policy) The Doctoral dissertation is approximately 300 pages, but the Masters Thesis is approximately 75. The saying is that you are asking the question with the Thesis, and then answering the question with the Dissertation.

I just happen to be stuck here where a masters dissertation is up to 300 pages. I already hold a MA in History and Philosophy of Science from the UK, but it is not recognised here. (British masters are not of a high enough standard for Brazil to grant them equivalence. :headbang: )

This Summer I will be doing a reasearch paper for one of my classes on Conservatisim in America. I have to see what Historian are saying about Conservative thoughts, collect important Conservative documents from important Conservative like Ronald Regan, Richard Nixon etc. Then I have to talk to several Conserative today to get their opinion. So far I'm looking at 30 sources for a 30 page paper. I have to write a 10 page paper on the process of creating my paper. So that's 40 pages total.

I'm a History Major (bacholars).

My sister used to work in a sleep lab. A girl came in for a week, and wrote her thesis in that time (you can't have any way to find out the date and time, but you can do tons of research, writing, etc). She did one week, and so got paid $6000 to do her thesis. It isn't a bad idea if you can deal with the testing they will put you through
