Who has heard of these guys. They call themselves "the last of the bedroom programmers" and they have certianly shown that in the first two games they have produced.

And now

Defcon, which is the game which will interest most of the people on here. The tagline is

"Its Global Thermonuclear war, and no one wins. But maybe, you can lose the least"

Uplink is twenty pounds?! That's something like... 40 dollars-ish?

Why don't you just download Decker, it's free and addictive.

Ther's so much to do... About a million billion gazillion missions, a storyline that isn't great but isn't shite, a lot of hardware and software upgrades, and lots of computers and networks to hack. >: )

EDIT: and built-in IRC :D

Hehe, sounds like Decker, with better graphics and a 40-dollar price tag.

Does Decker have built-in IRC? Didn't think so :p

EDIT: Having just checked out Decker I can tell you it's nothing like it. Decker is a joke by comparison. It looks like a barely-themed RPG...

Huh, it's funny, they made this thing called "IRC, outside of the game". It's scary new technology.

Is that like "barely-legal" RPG. Oh, yeah ;) (Porn groove plays)

Hah. You can chat to people whilst playing the game. Fun. Helpful.
Decker may be a good example of an RPG, but it can't hold a candle, never mind a torch, to Uplink.

Hehe, it's funny, all the reviews make it sound just like decker, minus 40 dollars.

Bah. Uplink has more to offer. There's a reason you have to pay.

EDIT: The-underdogs agrees with me! I must be right!

The game is quite interesting in principle, but gets more and more repetitive as you go along, because most of the action is presented via static screens, and new jobs sound too similar to one another after a while. A fun game overall, but unfortunately not as good as Neuromancer and the more recent Uplink, two classics in the genre.

Meh, I still think the cost difference pushes Uplink out of favor.

It used to be less than $25, but then it got popular. Heh.

25 dollars is still a lot of money (Generally, I only buy software from the "old games" section in Target. Bargain bin, w00t w00t!!!)
