mostly inspired by this (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10928331&postcount=42) post, its a simple question: who (which character) would win, in a fight, out of any videogame, ever?

put forth your contestant and pwn with great justice!
one rule, i think: no godmodding. in fact, no gods or mythical creatures of ultra-doom allowed at all. also, provide pics (or links) where possible so people know who you're talking about.

It's hard to throw in an RPG character into a debate like this, because eventually every one of them can become gods in their own game. I throw in Cloud, from FFVII - not the Cloud from Advent Children. He was a pussy. The Cloud that has all the materia mastered, and uses it. The Cloud that takes down Sephiroth in one hit. That Cloud.

Anyway, I think Zeratul from starcraft would be pretty good, if not necessarily the best.

I'd say Gordon Freeman could take that down. Striders can't stand up to him, and they're cooler. Plus he's a scientist :D But I still dunno WHAT it is, aside from a mecha.

not necessarily, just nothing with god-like powers. trying to think up examples but i can't... kinda like omitting unicron from a 'best transformers' poll because he's just too big and pwney to be fair to the rest. just trying to make it something of a decent fight (and not have so-and-so from such-and-such a game who has legendary powers to destroy all life in the galaxy with a mere twitch of his butt-muscle...)

Pfft, Master Chief has taken down entire groups of aliens and come out without a scratch - that's nothing to him. Hell, he single-handedly took down one of the massive artillery pieces the Covenent were using in Halo 2, and he kills Hunters for fun. Your monster is nothing.

But I still dunno WHAT it is, aside from a mecha.
its a mech from mechwarrior. classic game - MW2 was so the best. 3 was quite fun, but by the time they got to 4 and you needed a special M$ control pad just to play it (and it sucked anyway)... couldn't be arsed any more :(

Link from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - he took down a giant firebreathing lizard when he was only a child, after all. Plus, after collecting the gold gauntlets, he could just lift and throw a mech.

How about JC Denton from Deus Ex, He's one bad ass dude, and he's got a Nano-Augmented Body that can do all sorts of things. (And he can constantly change his abilities by getting new augmentation canisters).

He's taken on whole armies (Including Mechs) and saved the World more than once, and plus his origins are mysterious and have more Conspiracy theories than J.F.K's assassination.;)

Sam Fisher would kill anyone. Absolutely anyone. Without breaking a sweat. Plus, they wouldn't even know he was there. How the fuck would someone in a mech see him? No way. And Master Chief would be too busy trying to kill aliens to notice the guy right behind him about to snap his neck.

I should have elaborated on Zeratul - he has a cloaking device, and has warp blades with damage 100 per hit (for comparison, a burst from non-upgraded marine's gauss rifle does 6).

Indeedy, Dune 2 (Dune 1 was an RP, IIRC) was ground breaking in its day. Command and Conquer was based on it and that was legendary.

You can play as the Atriedes, Harkonnen and Ordos with the Sandmen and Sardaukar coming in later on, but controlled by the comp.

Indeed, the old X-Wing Manual was the hardest to copy if you didn't have a photo copier as it was all the wierd symbols they used in the movies.
