No. Unlike the boomstick you mentioned these flashlights will actually shoot out a projectile without making contact with the target. Like the Boomsticks that Ash buys from S-Mart.

I think there's a bit of confusion on both sides here.

Mer des Ennuis, those are more commonly called bang sticks.

DCC, a boomstick aka bang stick, generally fires a projectile - they're usually made with a large caliber pistol round or or shotgun shell. However, it's my understanding that the "muzzel blast" is the general killing mechanism.

A flashlight/firearm combo that is useless at night? The shot (.410) or bullet (.380) comes ot the wrong end. If you point the light at something the gun is pointed at you. If the gun is pointed away from you the light is pointed at you.
