I hate you all. Whenever a thread comes up with the remotest connection to contemporary politics, it gets hijacked. Often within the first couple pages. It's all party-line shit that the two sides throw at each other, quoting questionable sources, making sarcastic remarks about the other side, and generally being douchebags.
Don't get me wrong, I think about politics a lot. As an American, I consider it not only my right but my duty to be a knowledgable citizen. But I don't see why so many promising debates become mindless quibbling with no resolution.
Honestly, do you Liberals and Conservatives out there seriously believe you will convince the other that you are right? I know that's not the point of the forum, but still. Some of the stuff you post sounds like you expect the opposition to throw up their hands and surrender to your crushing logic--not.
My biggest beef is with the people who callously hijack threads, hoping to draw their idealogical opposites into a confrontation. STOP!
