So, the caterers just left from the event Glenn Group Meeting, and they left behind some delightful foodstuffs, including little sandwiches, pasta salad and fruit salad with...PINEAPPLES!

And, let me tell you, those goddam pineapples are good.

Anything which has to be peeled is not worth eating.

That is no attitude to take to food with a skin.. just bite the skin off!! e.g. eat the orange peel too... eat the whole apple including the core... you can do it.

Have you tried eating a pineapple with the skin on? It's bloody painful!

I've been "scared" of eating apple cores ever since I learned that the hydrolysis of various seeds (incl. apple seeds) creates hydrogen cyanide.

Actually, I am not really scared, but before, I didn't have an excuse not to eat the core (so I did). I don't really like the core, but hey, no wasting on my part.

But now I can argue that it's bad for me and possibly even lethal!

Chewing is way over-rated too.

Pineapples are not just delicious, but if you save the leafy top part you can grow a new pineapple with it.

I think because whoever named them needed glasses. I mean, if he thought that tree looked like a pine. Probably color blind too.

And on a sad note- I can't eat pineapples. :(

Why?

I have Crohn's Disease, and my GI doctor says the "fibrous nature" of pineapple pulp is very bad for my intestines. I can't eat celery either. But, on the plus side, I get 60 percocets a month!

Small concession after having to give up my precious pineapple....my...prrrecious...
