Sure, it would be like a strange, sweet, meaty tortilla. Not to mention the condiments.

I may have been led astray in Schiphol Airport, but isn't the rollmop Dutch? I voted Stroopwaffel, 'cos they are marvellous, but my heart lies truly with rollmops.

difficult. there were the deep fried grey things with meat (alllegedly)m there were the raw lumps of meat served in pubs, the almost Indonesian food without any of the spice, the dripping (fat) apple things sold in winter, the pork rolled up with sweet spices, anything at all made into a mash, the raw herring with the quite amazing advert with a pretty blond girl about to swallow a raw fish. must have been a great kiss afterwards. sex appeal just doesn't work with raw fish... deep fried bami goreng was another good one.

best of all must have been febos though. that anyone is willing to eat a burger out of a hole in a wall is still beyond me.

but the beer was good.

I still find it wierd that they eat chips with mayonnaise.Well, I consider ketchup or vinegar weird to use on chips.. Each country has it's own peculiarities, I suppose..
I don't like mayonaise on my chips btw, I use 'slasaus' :P

I still find it wierd that they eat chips with mayonnaise.

Why ? According to the Belgians, who are generally acknowledged as the inventors[1], it is how they are *supposed* to be eaten.

No-one mentionned the Ertwensoep...
But this is the _only_ contribution of the Dutch to the world-wide-food!!!

Sorry, couldn't find a picture of this greenish, super-thick soup, but here is the recipe (http://www.internationalrecipes.net/recipes/view.pl?2377)

Delicious in winter, my favorite, really.

My favourite dutch food (and among my favourite foos overall) is patat special (sp?) *drools* First time I went to Holland, I spent about 15 euros (then guilder) on the stuff. Though vla is most delicious as well, I especially like the ones with small chocolate bits in them... *dreams off*

Ahh, ok, well, most dutch really really like 'drop' and you can buy it everywhere around here (holland); a lot more than in most other countries that is.
