PAJL..."The Peoples' Army of Justice and Liberation." Imagine a man gets fed-up with injustice, and gets together an army of 10'000 men, who voulanteer to help, a few of them millionares to fund the operation, and heds out to, say the Middle-East and starts fighting terrorists, and other evil, he avoids conflicts with the armies of the U.S., and Europe, because he respects them. The men get their weapons via the black market, and dead terrorists. He relies off donations of food and money, or he buys his food. He hunts terriosts and hold trials, almost invaribly leading to "death". He tries his own men, and is harsh, but just. Make up the end of this story, of calculate what most likely would happen. Shoot your ending, likely, or not!:sniper:

So, you're basically suggesting another set of terrorists, yes?

but there is no definition of terrorist so you could kill anyone and steal candy from babies

…..where do I sign? because if it actually works we could have a totalitarian middle east where everything is a crime fun fun if I get candy

At what point did the "terrorists, and other evil" stop being citizens?

Forgive me if I seem blase, but I think I've seen this scenario in action before with the loyalist paramiliaries in Northern Ireland. You neglected to mention the inevitable split into factions, giving rise to an assortment of groups claiming to be the real PAJL, PLAJA, JLA, PLA, and so on. You all left out the bit about hjow they end up supporting themselves through racketeering, drug dealing, and all the other commons taples of gangsterism.

Hmmm. The definition of terrorist is someone whose main weapon is TERROR. These guys MAY terrify their enemies, but that's NOT their main weapon.

So, fuck, call them paramilitaries. While we're at it we might as well label the other guys paramilitaries too. Now, who was wearing the white hats again?

Yes, that might happen, but if the guys at the top are incorruptible, and have a set of laws, that they inforce...

Jarhead terrified me does that mean I can kill everyone who made it or can I kill Steven King for terrifying millions of middle aged women?

So, you're going to manage to do what Diogenes never could, and find an honest man?

Would I seem overly hostile if I described your new force as a jumped-up bunch of little vigilantes?

Then you would miss out on all the fun of holding kanagaroo courts.

You can do that in the regular army. You just need to make your views known, and you'll get contacted. The Major doesn't have to know... :D

Maybe not, but The Goodies (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatal_hilarity) did kill someone: what makes terror a valid target for vigilante-ism, but rules out humour as an invalid target.

I'd love to go after terrorists, but I think I ought to start with the terrorists in my own country, the U.S.A.

Many of the notorious ones are politicians, but there are a lot of terrorists/vigilantes out there as well who need killing.

You may not have heard much about American vigilantes in the press, but that's because the press encourages them.

R.I.P. Clovis Claxton.
He was a mentally challenged and crippled young man, driven to suicide by a Republican councilman in Florida.

R.I.P. William Elliott & Joseph Gray.
The State of Maine incited a Canadian vigilante to murder them.

R.I.P. Hank Adolf Eisses & Victor Manuel Vazquez.
The State of Washington incited an ex-con to murder them.

Those are only the cases that made headlines. In the last year.
