I agree completely, every state has its positives and negatives. I live in NJ, and believe me, New Jersey would suprise you. Once you get away from Atlantic City, Camden, Trenton, Newark and Patterson, you will find some of the most scenic drives in the country. The major cities of New Jersey are toilets. There are lots of terrific communities along the shore, and the Highlands has some of the most beautiful trails in the northeast. The people of New Jersey tend to be somewhat crusty, but friendly and hard working. I would not live anywhere else, and Ive traveled to just about every state, except for the Dakotas, Nebraska, and Wisconsin.

Kulikovo, what part of PA you from? I'm up here in the northeast outside Scranton. You?
The worst thing about PA is the roads. They have some pretty dangerous roads: falling rock, slick in winter, no guard rails in high places, and deer EVERYWHERE (not to mention a million "High DUI Area" signs). I-70 and I-80 both suck. Plus, US-22 can be a scary trip in places. However, it is a very pretty place in the fall. Driving through the mountains and valleys can be beautiful when the tree leaves are changing colors. Plus, they have some great universities. I also love Pittsburgh. My man grew up in Altoona; and while that place is going to hell, the surrounding areas are peaceful and have a lot of history to them (there are also a TON of haunted areas).

Heh, you'd be surprised. There are barely any deer left. I know. I freezed my ass off to shoot one. Did I see one? No. Might've helped if I didn't fall asleep on post, though... :p
Anyway...
There is a reason our roads are so bad. The state puts in just as much money into road maitenence as any other state, but the problem is the climate. The roads just can't take the rapid temperature changes.
Never been to it, so I could care less about Pennsylvania unless a natural (or man-made) disaster hits it. Then I'll care.

That's because all the deer are dead on the side of the roads! It's hard to drive I-70 from mid-Ohio to mid-PA during deer season because there are so many dead deer just laying on the side of the road. We spend about four hours on I-70 (until it becomes the turnpike) and about every 10 miles, there's another dead deer. If you want to catch a deer, just hop in your car/truck and drive around for a bit!!
I really can't talk about the roads because I am from Ohio and it takes us years to complete any sort of road work. Roads in both states are awful, but you can tell PA takes more weather abuse. I think the problem in Ohio is that our road work isn't handled properly through ODOT and Taft (for all we know, the mob is running things). Both states, however, need to re-design their on and off ramps and get more guard rails where they are needed.
