I would love to see a gay or lesbian bishop in the Christian church. Maybe they can start a tolerance movement!

Don't want to disappoint you, but I'm pretty sure about half of them are already gay. They're just not saying it. You'd be surprised just how over-represented gays are in catholic priesthood.

And, a lesbian bishop is hardly very realistic, what with those dinosaurs' views on women, and their unwillingness to let women be ordained.

Pfft. There are tonnes of gay and gay-friendly clergy in Swedish churches. There are priests who have married other priests and been blessed by the church. And so on, and so on.

So, umm, been there, done that.

"People ask me what I think about that woman priest thing. What, a woman priest? Women priests. Great, great. Now there's priests of both sexes I don't listen to."

Same will be said for Gay/Lesbian clergy. Give me one with 4 heads, a trunk and a furry tail and you might have my attention.

Yeah, one of the applicants for the seat of Arch-bishop were both woman AND gay. I'm not suprised she didn't get elected:P

Yeah. Whenever is a black lesbian gonna become US President, I wonder?

Interesting side note: Here in Québec, one of the two major party had a leadership course last year. The two most popular candidates(by far) for leadership of the party were a woman and a gay man. I'm glad to say I live somewhere you don't need to be a straight, married, aging white man to hold office.

That's actually a really good idea! I should recommend that to someone... of course, my church doesn't have a hierarchy because we believe in absolute equality... hmm...
Well, someone else should bring that idea to their church, then. It'll make news, anyway.

She wasn't elected because she campaigned poorly, and being the sister of the former arch bishop, whose brother was also running, was too nepotist.

Why not... I am sure there are some already without most people knowing. After all God loves all his children. Right?
