"Ben and Izzy has all the right ingredients," Rania told The Associated Press. "It uses the fun medium of a children's cartoon, promotes important intercultural understanding and educates our children as well."

"It's all about partnership. This isn't about East telling West, or West telling East, but rather East and West putting their heads together and figuring out what's best for us both," she added.

Randa Ayoubi, Rubicon's 43-year-old director, said she believed its innovative program featuring the sometimes rocky relationship between two 11-year-old boys — one American, one Arab — will appeal to youngsters and adults alike in her native Amman, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and beyond.

I would love to see this - it sounds like a step in the right direction if it has been done right. If so, it should be syndicated in more of the Middle East, Europe and the US too. I see much potential here... OTher shows, adult programming, reality shows, etc.

Amen, brother. Preach it! :)

I've always been impressed by King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan. This just confirms my opinion of them.

What we really need is a religion that insists, nay demands cooperation between the races as a condition of getting into "heaven!" :D

ROFLMAO! Hmm. Nahh. The Moslems don't have a sense of humor, of which I am aware that is. :D

As the grandsons of archeologists, the two boys get up to all kinds of adventures traveling in time accompanied by a genie, named Yasmine, while trying to stay one step ahead of an evil antiquities dealer named Clutchford Wells.

Let me guess: Clutchford Wells is English, yes?

Americans and Arabs - good.
Englishmen - bad

where is the European stereotype?

We assume that the obese and evil Clutchford Wells with his grasping old-world ways and fascination with a faded past, evinced by his role as an antiques dealer, is the token Euro.

That's the one where the underdog fights the war of the flea and time and time again bloodys the nose of the established power elite?

so Clutchford Wells is into dance music, casual sex, liberal-socialism and not doing any work he sounds like a nice guy (the money he gets from the artefacts I presume will go into welfare programmes and public services)

Why would a time traveller go after artefacts in the present when he can get them easily from the past and sell them for millions in the future and why would he care about artefacts at all if he’s after magic pearls?

Yes, he is actually a dutch squatter, and only has an english-sounding name. His catchphrase is 'we go make party now, yah?'. He does that whole Pac Man thing writ large - dancing in darkened rooms whilst listening to loud, repetitive music and eating (ahem) 'magic pearls'.

Why would a time traveller go after artefacts in the present when he can get them easily from the past and sell them for millions in the future and why would he care about artefacts at all if he’s after magic pearls?

Protecting his cultural heritage from the museums of the New World, perhaps?

There is hope. Jordan has been one of the most liberal Arab states...weren't they the first to sign peace with Israel...or was that Egypt?

Nice. Cultural diversity, acceptance, working together...all it needs is time travel and--oh wait, it has it! This is perfect! Finally, a show I'd actually let my kids watch.

...if...I ever...have kids...I'm only nineteen...>_>
