My Daddy is an amateur historian and philographer, so I get to see a lot of the old propaganda posters. I adore a good bunch of them, but I was wondering if any of you have a favourite. My current favourite is this one:

So... what's your favourite World War propaganda poster? It can be from any country at all, and if you have a special reason that you like it, please explain :D.

If you ever see the movie called the Bishops Wife(the one with Cary Grant). The wealthy woman in the movie was the WW1 poster girl. It's the blond in the Sailor outfit.

Was this the poster with the little blonde girl holding a bond and asking if her friends' daddies had bought bonds for them yet?

Finally, some taste in art on NS.

It's Vladamir Lebedev; around 1921. Celebrating the Red Army and Navy destroying the capitalists. You should check out his other work.

I love the pre-stalin purge russian art.

I love this one, the art is fantastic, and it's much, much more interesting than the British blackout propaganda.

This is a German poster about the infantry, reading "Infantry, the Queen of the fighting services." (I think)

These next two are just fantastic images with an excellent motto to them. I particularly like the image on the first one, actually.

Picture one says : Glory to the defenders of Moskva (Moscow).

Yes, that's it I guess.

Either
No matter what you've already done or accomplished and no matter what you do, the real judgement will be past on the front.

Or
It's aimed at the homefront, saying that no matter what shortages you might encounter, you don't count as much as the man in the field.

See, even after 60 years the nazis still confuse you :D

The Star of David on the drum...it certainly doesn't represent Israel and doesn't praise the Jews for their musical skills. That's part of their "Der Jude: Kriegsanstifter, Kriegsverlänger" (The Jew: Agitator of War, Prolonger of War) propaganda.

Plus, the banker hiding behind the money has the distinct Jewish stereotypical portrayal used in Nazi propaganda with the exaggerated nose and facial features.

You can use the Magen David in a way which does not praise the Jews or represent Israel, without being anti-Semitic.

Yes, but given the SS symbol in the corner and the Germanic architecture of the city being destroyed it would be hard to argue that it is not Anti-Semitic even if used in a non-Nazi manner.

And there's no way to conceal the fact that in the image African-Americans are stereotyped, as are women.
