Ah, thanks for that link Daistallia 2104. Interesting read. I haven't seen Seven Days in May, so I couldn't justifiably include Lyman, although I was aware of him as being one of this lot.

Roosevelt, he sorted out the Wall Street Crash, which was pretty good of him, and also tried to talk with Stalin, instead of just insulting him and bragging about the US' nuclear bomb, as Truman did.
Roosevelt. You know I havn't heard of any of those men...

David Palmer.
I'm glad his brother's got some balls finally.
Not that i'm an encourager in the "brotherly love/Kennedy" scenario of politics, but there's hope yet.

Aye, I looked up and just thought... who are these people?
Were the Presidents in the poll really early ones or something? (Please can someone tell me, I'd quite like to know, thanks)

This is turning out to be a sweet thread.
:D
Suffice it to say, some of these presidents got more coverage than others. It kinda depended on the network.

Hehehe :)
They're all fictional presidents. In fact, AFAIK, the ones listed in the poll are all telly or cinema fictional presidents.
With one exception. I'll leave the discovery of the exception as an exercise to be completed by the "students". ;)

Are there people...who think...the fictional men listed there....are actually....real presidents? I'm terrified. I need to find an underground bunker or become a woodland hermit or something.
But my vote goes to Jed Bartlett.

For sure.
Well now, what happened is... ah... one of our base commanders, he had a sort of... well, he went a little funny in the head... you know... just a little... funny. And, ah... he went and did a silly thing...
(And, while eminantly cool, can we really count Emperor Norton as having been either fictional or a president? But since the OPer did list an actual person a s a fictional president...)

The only good American President is a fictional President. Mostly because they seem to be educated, reasonably in-corrupt and can pronounce the word "nuclear".
Having said that, some of the earlier chaps were rather good. Possibly because they had actually read that rather splendid book by Thomas Paine.

this certainly explains why i didn't recognize any of them. as i don't watch all that much movies or tv. in what i would consider an ideal world there would be NO 'super power' soverignties. even if there were a world government it would be 'service state annonymous', meaning out of sight and out of mind, and not in the bussiness of causing harm.

I HATE Jack Ryan!
I hate how he can never die!
The have been too many books about him. Anyway, John Clark is way cooler than him....

Hehe, she'd be both the first female, and the first cartoon president of the US ;)
She'd do pretty good though.

I'm glad you're british, 'cause if you were an American and didn't know I'd of been more disappointed in our public education system than usual.
Harrison Ford. Truly, he kicked Russian ass when they hijacked his plane.
