Islam again - new views?

I've written an article on islam for my blog. This isn't just a random advertisement for my blog, I genuinely want feedback on that particular article. It's currently the article at the top of the page, entitled "The quran - a mistranslation?" on http://www.ketchupandcurry.blogspot.com
It's quite a long article, but to understand it properly, it needs to be read until the end.
Feel free to leave comments on my actual blog rather than this forum (it would make them a heck of a lot easier to read, as they would all be on one page instead of the potential 20+ pages that a post related to islam may generate)
Any opinions?...

Islam, is, arguably, little more than a car-burning cult these days.

I quit after the first paragraph. Why don't you summarize it?

Generalise much?

For many people, yes. But not all, not all.

I may try to later. But a summary may take away what I wanted to say.

Well, what are you trying to say?

Yeah, kinda like Ireland.

Just look at those in the French banlieus.
Yeah, kinda like Ireland.
The Muslims in Ireland are better than most, for they engage in very little car burning.

Well, what are you trying to say?
Well it was hard to say exactly what I wanted without the detailed explanation (you may understand what I mean if you read the whole article). Like if I wrote an article about how much I liked pizzas, and all the reasons why I liked pizzas, if I was to summarise such an article, I would not be able to say all of the reasons why I like pizza, which means I would not be able to get what I wanted to say across in full - eg. a possible reaction to a summary of my liking of pizzas: "you like pizzas because of that?!" when in actual fact I like pizzas "because of that, that, that, that, and that", which would be a more acceptable explanation.
But I shall try:
In conclusion, the quran may have been intended to be a peaceful book. It may indeed have originated from God. But what God said may not have been remembered in full, or/and accurately, by whoever wrote it down (even if the writer was mohammed). In addition, languages, due to the way they are created and developed, can never be translated exactly into other languages, no matter how good the translator. The translation may be extremely close to the original, but never exact, simply because of the way different languages work. And finally, there is the possibility for misinterpretation – either by way of taking a passage out of it’s context (for example, a seemingly violent passage that is actually preceded by a message prescribing that violence may only be used in self-defence) or by interpreting a passage completely inaccurately based on your own thoughts.
But I still encourage people to read THE FULL ARTICLE to understand what I mean properly. http://www.ketchupandcurry.blogspot.com

The ones pissed off at being treated like shit and essentially being second-rate citizens, you mean?

Their status and actions are a combination of laziness and infection of religious fundamentalism.

Please please please can people NOT turn this thread into an islam-bashing thread, totally unrelated to what's actually written in my article?
Thanks thanks thanks

Of course. The fact that the French authorities treat them like animals, don't help them at all and don't do anything to try and improve employment rates or discrimination really can't have anything to do with it, right? Better to just blame their religion - easier as well, don't have to think.

Again, please can people only write comments related to my article in this thread. By all means have an argument related to my article.
By all means have an argument unrelated to my article and just about islam - but please make another thread for it. There's already several.

I would like that, but you see, for many people, it's literally impossible for them to discuss Islam without turning into fundamentalist anti-Muslims themselves. Nothing you say will prevent them from hijacking this thread of yours with their garbage. Mark my words.

Religion is the opium of the people. It is always bad.

Ok, that actually makes perfect sense. Somewhere I read where important words like even "jihad" may have been interpreted differently. So yes, you make a very good point, my friend. Maybe I'll get around to reading the article.
Oh, and when you start a thread about islam, muslims are going to get bashed. It's inevitable.

Alright, I don't really believe this crap. I don't think that Islam is about burning cars. I just had my fun. Goodnight!
Let normal discussion resume.

THAT I'm fine with. As long as it's related to my article, instead of just random comments like "muslims are evil" or "muslims are descended from jaffa cakes"
