That's nice. Do you know people in all those countries or are you just planning on making alot of prank calls?

Is that in return for the advertising you're doing for them? Where do you get to call for free if you put their link in your sig?

*repeats story without having heard it from a reputable person*

I know someone who heard from someone that they know that their house caught on fire and they had like the Vonage phone and stuff, and they tried to call 911 but they got put on hold by the Vonage people and they almost died and stuff.....

sooo, yah, we have Vonage too, and granted its cheaper and all, but not worth the hassle (IMHO).

Smunkee you are right to a point-- there is this little disclaimer way at the bottom of the contract saying they do not provide 911 services and that you have to pay 99 cents extra a month for it and you have to call them to get it all set up--(or something like that, I let my husband take care of that end)

the thing is, 50% of the time, the connection stinks (it sounds like the other person is in a really long tunnel or everything sounds "tinny"), their customer service sucks, and a million other things-- but hey its only twenty some bucks a month.

eh, i would rather email most of the yahoos i have to deal with then talk to them on the phone anyways...

hm... i have no problems w/ it and i don't think i pay 99c a month for 911 service. Do you live in a rural area?

hmm... I don't make long distance calls so I am pretty happy with my $6 a month phone bill for local service and caller ID

I make lots of long-distance phone calls, so it pays off for me. :)

I bet it would then. I know when I used to only make long distance calls my phone bill was crazy big. LOL and that was at 10 cents a minute.

We have family in alaska, so the long-distance thing pays off for us in the end. we don't live in a rural area, although we got vonage as soon as it came to our area, so maybe that was the whole 911 speile. Dunno.

its ok, just can be a pain in the arse sometimes.
