A 43 year old fruitcake. Wouldnt you have thrown it out? Or regifted it?
I bet it winds up on Ebay.
Edit- it would have helped if I had put in the link initially:

HEY! You were probably listening to O & A the day they were joking about the "ghost in a jar" that was being sold on Ebay-remember that?
I think a phony bid was up to hundereds of thousands and other people were selling pictures of ghosts in jars their kids just drew, farts in prescription bottles- it made for a funny ride home with the radio that day.

Wow, 43-years-old. Is this an item on e-bay because it's new, compared to other fruitcakes?

No, I missed that one. But the ghost in the jar is covered in the article I linked to.

I hope your greed kills you. :D
Ruffino, I don't think you wanted to do that.
"I opened it up and didn't know what to do with it," Nesta said.
"I sure wasn't going to eat it, and I liked my fellow soldiers too much to share it with them."
If it was inedible 43 years ago... :D
Only 40 odd years old, no probably not safe to eat - however if it had been made in the truly old fashioned way it might well be. Made with honey ( has been found -still useable - in 3000 yr old containers ) and real spices - real cinnamon etc ( the stuff you get in the familiar tins now days is not real cinnamon and gets bitter when aged ) and soaked thru and thru with brandy, and then sealed in an air tight tin/ sealed jar...
The recipies aren't easy to find, as is real cinnamon but if you can oh my!

Yum!
Although it's nothing next to 90-year-old human body, half decomposed... with a side order of larvae... mmmm. ;)
