Sooo best Slayer album?

My vote goes to 'South of Heaven'

Meh, Mayhem is way heavier and more satanic. So is Gorgoroth, and Dark Funeral.

Marduk is to the point of hilarity, with their EP entitled "Fuck Me Jesus"

Though, admittedly, some Slayer does kick ass. South of Heaven is pretty cool.

Don't make assumptions. I am not a Satanist. It's just that a common view about Slayer that people have is that they're very satanic. Comparatively, they are not.

Hahahah now look I didn't make any assumptions, I asked a question. About Slayer being satanic though, I thought that they where all Christian meself.

Slayer never claimed they were satanists- their lyrics are stories, similar to many death metal bands. Besides, Tom Araya is a Christian.

Aren't Slayer playing Reading this year? Now that's the wrong festival for them...

Though it would be funny to see thousands of indie-kids being corrupted by the music. :p

Excellent, a new Slayer album. Any word on what it will be titled?

Meh, Mayhem is way heavier and more satanic. So is Gorgoroth, and Dark Funeral.True, but bands that chop animals up on stage suck.

Slayer. Yay. Keep on listening to that.

Alternatively, take Mark Lamarr's advice and grow up :)
Death metal is a little bit on the wrong side of ludicrous, sure, if you like tuneless screaching feedback-riddled crud, that's your choice, but alternatively you could listen to music.

Indie music is good. Listen to Belle and Sebastian.

Alternatively, take Mark Lamarr's advice and grow up :)
Mark Lamarr is an obnoxious twat who believes he deserves to be at the centre of anything he is ever on. So, no, I won't take his advice. There are few people on tv/radio who annoy me more, and they are the following: Vernon Kay, Chris Evans, Chris Moyles, Sara Cox, Graham Norton. That's it.

B&S are ok. They've got shit recently, though. Tigermilk is a great album, but apart from that there's too much filler on the rest of their albums.

I'd actually quite like to go to Reading this year, to see Muse and Pearl Jam, but I can't afford it. So I'm seeing Radiohead at V instead. :) And getting paid to do so. :D

The Manic Street Preachers, The Crimea, The Clash, Hot Hot Heat, Belle and Sebastian, The Buzzcocks, Kasabian.

Mark Lamarr may be an obnoxious twat, but he's got the right. He owns. He's always right. Always. So there.

It's just Buzzcocks. There's no 'the' involved.

And no, Mark Lamarr is not always right. The only thing he 'always' is, is annoying. He thinks he's always right, but that's not the same thing.

My apologies. The current rash of 'the ...' bands scrambles my brain, and I find myself adding many a superfluous 'the'.

Damnit, existence is all about your perception of what's happening, so he is right :D

Are the Crimea and Hot Hot Heat similar sounding bands to the other four you mentioned?

Am I correct in assuming you're British?
The Gate Builders

Yes, I'm British.

Hot Hot Heat aren't that similar to the other stuff (at least now), but the Crimea kind of are.

Dunno about the Crimea, but you're right on Hot Hot Heat. Slightly less political than the Manics, the Clash and Buzzcocks, though.

Hot Hot Heat did some stuff similar to MSP (Matador at the Door... All I can think of right now), they weren't quite as clean-cut as they are now.

Yes, I'm British.I figured as much. Aside from the Clash, most of those bands aren't well known or popular here. (I've never previously heard of the two I mentioned.

Car parks. Not quite so good, but never mind. I was going to steward at Reading, but my girlfriend now has to get a job over summer, so that wouldn't be quite as much fun...

A new Slayer album should be interesting. I hope I am not the only one here who found "God Hates Us All" really bad nu-metal. Most of Slayers older albums rock though, my personal favorite being Seasons in the Abyss.

Slayer's going to release an album soon?
Who cares?
TOOL released '10 000 days' the other day and it is fucking AWESOME. Best album they've done after Aenima, imo.
First two songs are two of their finest ever.
Now that's a band what we should be discussing

The new Tool album is indeed superb - better than Lateralus, but not as good as either Aenima or Undertow, IMHO. I say that by way of praise for those two albums, rather than as criticism of 10000 Days though.

After all that happened that day, I don't think I even realized it was out (Is in NYC area). When I got it, it seemed so...so...commercial. Slayer needs their old sound back, and hopefully with Dave Lombardo back in the mix, it will rock.

God Hates Us All sucked, but it did proove even good bands can't make nu-metal unsucktacular.

I just hope this one doesn't have Tom screaming about flowers and getting dumped.

Great band.

Well, since Slayer isn't death metal...

...so what if it was? I'd rather listen to death metal than the top 40 "r&b/hip hop" bullshit that dominates radio and TV these days.

...anyway fuck this.

Slayer rocks. If you don't like it, go listen to some Fiddy Cent, or Michael Bolton...

Dk's cool Lard better! If Lard has about two more releases that are as good as the stuff they've released already, then I would agree, but so far I can't as the DKs have a slightly higher output than Lard.
Also, it's unknown whether or not Paul Barker would be in Lard. On one hand, Lard is pretty much exclusively a studio band, and the reason he left Ministry/RevCo is because he wasn't home enough, but on the other hand Al Jourgensen might not want to work with him.

There's something wrong with going to the butcher shop for stage props?Yes, it's tacky and wasteful, and is probably done to distract the audience from the (presumably) sucky lyrics.
