Out of these two, which would you choose for a candidate in the '08 election in the U.S.?

Not Giuliani, but definitely not McCain. McCain can't sell his soul 'cause he hasn't owned one in a long time.

Neither. Maybe Colin Powell. McCain has allied himself with Rev. Jerry Fallwell. That makes him the enemy in by book.

ugh
Giulliani. I don't even want to be in the same voting booth as a machine that makes me choose between Hillary and McCain.

i dont like giuliani.
but he is one person who would greatly benefit from cheney resigning and bush appointing giuliani vice president. that might give him enough prestige to survive the primaries. otherwise he doesnt have a chance to get the nomination. he's not conservative enough.

Which is why you vote for a third party…
McCain is a committed Christian, while Giulini is a pimp.
Giulini wins.

Unfortunately, all I've been able to find is the paleo-Libertarian party, communists, and Bible-thumpers as third parties. My prospects at finding someone worth voting for are ridiculously thin.

What kind of party would you like?
What kind of party would you like?
Well, that's the thing. I'd rather not have to select a third party, I'd rather encourage my ideology to grow within another party. I think the most successful party in American history is the Socialist Party- their platform in 1928 was the platform in 1988, and they did this by melding into either party (primarily the Democrats).
But to answer your question about what kind of party, I'd like one that believes in Locke's belief that the state's primary function should be to protect life, liberty and the product of one's life and liberty, property. I'd also like a party that's pro-life, but within the context of the above as opposed to using a purely theological argument about God going medieval on the US's ass if they don't follow through. I'd also like a party that believes in protecting the rights of foreigners and is pro-war on terror, as opposed to the isolationism as demonstrated by the Libertarian party. And that's pretty much it, in a nutshell.
Greill, you are for the most part it seems, simply a rational human being working within your knowledge of reality.
There is no comfortable place for you in politics.

 Hillary Clinton '08!
The republican party power seems to be swining down again, its a cyclical thing in Washington. When the Dems are up, the GOP is down, when the GOP is up, the Dems are down. Its only a matter of time...

If the Democrats nominate Hillary to run they'll just be handing the presidency to the Republicans on a platter. I wish every Democrat who thinks Hillary should run would just put the bong down.

Silly republican tradition voters vote for giuliani (assuming he gets through the primaries). I vote for him because he's one of the only liberal republicans, a faction I'd like to see gain more power in the republican party.
On the other hand, McCain is conservative.
seems like a no-brainer to me.

Colin won't run because his wife told him not to :(
I don't like either, in a perfect world (one better than this one anyway) Colin would run and I would vote for him in a heartbeat.

If it's going to come down to Hillary and McCain, 2008 will be a sad year for America. Not quite as sad as 2000 or 2004, but sad nonetheless.

I would actually have to agree with Ballixtina here. Although I'm not sure if the Dems will come back to power, I would rather vote for her than for either of those guys.

I don't know enough about Guliani. McCain I dislike, because of McCain-Feingold. I see myself voting Democrat in '06, because I am tired of the Republicans owning all three (House, Senate, Presidency). I want the House Democrats to kick W around a little (they're not going to touch Iraq unless it completely falls apart), if only to clean the air for '08. Regardless of who wins, the election should be interesting.
