Here's a story with a nasty old hump that apparently had nothing better to do with his time. I wont miss him.

Yes... Ignore the fact he was probably very sad and lonely, and the fact that the neighbours who are issuing these statements aren't at all biased...

Hold on, how can it be a fact he was probably something?

A sad old man who tried to light his neighbors' houses on fire and was out in the street, apparently in a neighborhood with children, with two guns. He could have killed people.

Bye. Wish I had my marshmellows.

Even if that were true (and you have no way of proving either one), it really isn't much of an excuse....

So it's sociable and compassionate to worry about what could've happened while trampling on the corpse of the one who actually died?

I feel bad for the guy.. Tell me, if he was in a nursing home, like he should have been, would you call him a freak?

That's the thing. At that age he might well have had senile dementia or something.

The most depressing thing about that article for me is that America has houses numbers in the thousands, and getting on for the tens of thousands. You are a number. Get used to it.

Uh...he was trying to rig a gasoline bomb to incinerate neighbors while they slept.

You think he would have gotten along with his neighbors in a nursing home?

No- he'd spill their bed pans on himself while tryng to smother them with their pillows.

Don't you feel just a little bad for the old guy?

Actually-No. He wasnt sitting on the corner begging for change. He went on to other people's property at 4am to burn their houses down with fuel bombs. He went out of his way to try to hurt people in their own homes.
And he then checked himself out-the hard way.

Things just sometimes work themselves out.

he tried to torch two neighbors' homes on Bergman Lane, a cul-de-sac in Downey, then set his own home ablaze, killing himself.
If I hadn't read the rest of the article, I would've started considering if this guy had some weapon he really, really shouldn't.

Right, so an old man in his mid-80s who CAN'T WALK properly can manage to produce two gasoline bombs (where did he get the gasoline?), SNEAK onto his neighbours property and put them in place without anyone being any the wiser? Yes... that seems probable.

As for the kids, perhaps they were little bastards who used to throw rubbish in his garden, break his windows with footballs and insult him? Suppose those kids often taunted him and enjoyed making him chase them even though they KNEW he could barely walk?

Well I just love the self-righteous slaves of the media.

So, if your dad was mentally ill like this guy.. you would leave him all alone and call him a freak?

MAYBE the neighborhood kids raped and murdered his wife and cat and put potatos up the tailpipe of his car too.

So-thats a free pass to firebomb them and their families in their homes as they sleep?

Well I just love the pompous windbags that think we care what their names are.

Our mighty boulevards stretch out into the infinite distance in all directions, with a Wal-Mart every half-a-mile and a Starbucks every hundred yards. You're not going to find anybody living at "Number Five Upton Close" in America.

And the fact that this guy couldn't walk properly? How in the hell is he meant to get all the damned stuff to make these petrol bombs? And yes, the neighbours probably would have had it coming. If you think he had it coming, then chances are the neighbours did too, likely more so.

Of course not, I'd throw things. Eggs, tomatoes. It's a bit early for tomatoes yet, but eggs are always in season!

Well, take it down now. If I'm senile and try to bomb someone's house and set myself on fire; I want all of you to laugh long and excessively at me, 'cause that would be funny.
