A sad old man who tried to light his neighbors' houses on fire and was out in the street, apparently in a neighborhood with children, with two guns. He could have killed people.

The most depressing thing about that article for me is that America has houses numbers in the thousands, and getting on for the tens of thousands. You are a number. Get used to it.

Actually-No. He wasnt sitting on the corner begging for change. He went on to other people's property at 4am to burn their houses down with fuel bombs. He went out of his way to try to hurt people in their own homes.
And he then checked himself out-the hard way.

Things just sometimes work themselves out.

If I hadn't read the rest of the article, I would've started considering if this guy had some weapon he really, really shouldn't.

Right, so an old man in his mid-80s who CAN'T WALK properly can manage to produce two gasoline bombs (where did he get the gasoline?), SNEAK onto his neighbours property and put them in place without anyone being any the wiser? Yes... that seems probable.

As for the kids, perhaps they were little bastards who used to throw rubbish in his garden, break his windows with footballs and insult him? Suppose those kids often taunted him and enjoyed making him chase them even though they KNEW he could barely walk?
