Video games, naturally.

Doodling race cars. When no one is around I also make engine noises, too.

Cartoons. Dig 'em. But some of them haven't actual aged well. G.I. Joe is really unwatchable. I haven't seen Robotech since adulthood, so I don't know. But Justice League, while not from my childhood, is really good.

Not to worry. I believe I'll make a good teacher. It's strenous fun and a lot of work, but it's worth it. Besides, English and Biology are great subjects.

Which Sonnet would Shakespeare have written about the debate on intelligent design. Yes, references to NSG are allowed. In English, please. Yes, you may also refer to the FSM as your supreme being. I don't know if Shakespeare would've quoted Jesus. :D:D:D

I was recently recognised as one of the best children's teachers working at my company. There's a good reason for this.

Lego - I went to a party at a friends house last Sunday, and one of the guests brought his four year old - we had a great time playing with the Lego. :D

Coloring - I bought a 96 color box of Crayola Crayons when I was last home on vacation - I would have bought the 120 box if I could have found it. I used them just last night.

Toy cars - I was "busted" by a friend for playing with some quite recently. :D

Bad Jokes - I am officially the King of bad jokes according to my friends and family. I love joke books targeted at kids. What do you get when you cross an elephant with a kangaroo? :p

Cartoons - Does anybody grow out of these? Seriously? Please say no. I watch Cartoon Network and Disney Channel regularly.

Playing in the sand at the beach - I have embarassed spme people so much by doing this that will not go to the beach with me ever again. :(

General sillyness - I sometimes engage in pillow fights with my students. Last year, memorable incidental English phrases in my kids English classes included: "fried pants", "pull my finger", "bonk on the head" (a la "hey Puppet Pal Clem..."), and "my head is an octopus". My students regularly tell me: I can't "eat" their books, I shouldn't put bananas in my ear, stop putting colored pencils in my beard (it will hold ten), and various things (toes, crayons, cushions, etc.) are not yummy. The best team name any of my kids ever came up with was "ET Pirate Poo" - for which I drew an appropriate picture on the white board. A former girlfriend once warned my not to sing my favorite karaoke song at her best friend's wedding reception - Anarchy in the UK was so tempting...

I am ashamed to say that I still suck my thumb even though I am 30 years old. My parents tried everything they could to break me of sucking my thumb when I was a child, including putting tobasco sauce on it. None of it worked. I've tried to just make myself stop, but it's a comfort issue. I only suck my thumb when I'm about to fall asleep, but it's still an embarassing habit.

Dissecting food.

When I eat pizza, I eat the toppings, then the cheese, then the sauce, then the bottom of the crust, then the big thing of crust at the top and then finally the soft part of the crust. Pop-Tarts and Reeses Cups are eaten the same way.

Also, since I grew up with animals, I... kinda tend to act like animals. When I was little, I used to actually try to groom myself like the cats by licking myself, which my parents thought was just a slight bit odd until I started licking the cats too. They put a stop to that one. But I'll curl up like a cat, meow at cats, kiss dogs right on the doggy lips, et cetera. I'mma grow up to be a weird old cat lady XB.

WooT!

Mine's kinda funny - i used to collect the Micro Machine Star Trek and Star Wars series (up 'til Episode 1 releases) - before Galoob sold out. I take one (usually Trek) with me every day, usually a ship tailored to my schedule and expected interactions.
I "flew them around" at work a few times and a guy tried to get me fired over it. I loved having to hear his complaint out loud in front of my supervisor. :D

Oh yeah, the legos thing ...
Punjab the Sane had a collection, and after a fashion, he finally gathered up all his dudes and set up a battlefield that would put Warhammer to shame.
Then everyone died (he applied some rolls i think) and got so horribly depressed that he can't really bear to play with them again.

As for me - i played with them until one day i filled my fleet up with black powder, and had a pretty impressive battle myself.
Now i'm just depressed because that was before almost all of the really cool ones came out.

hmmm, ok here are a few

From highschool, we always put "super" as a modifier in front of EVERYTHING, and then the "or anything at the end. Fore example, "not super dumb or anything"...that was the standard that could be added to anything and describe anything. i have a tendency to slip that into conversations far too much

love, love, love the old school Looney Toones, before they edited out all the good stuff like Wille E Coyete falling off of a bridge and seeing the poof of smoke. oh, and the Muppet show, and HR PuffnStuff ("HR puffnstuff, can't do a little and you can't do enough...")

anyways, a few weeks ago VH1 did the big "I love Toys", basically the top 100 toys of all time and it was great. For once in my adult life, I was completely glued to the TV screen.

yeah, just a big kid still, even though I am 26....

Which isn't an entirely bad thing, IMHO. Life is far more fun if you can laugh at it, and at yourself. We need to find a balance between being mature and rational on the one hand, and retaining a childlike sense of wonder and joy on the other.

Comic books. I've always been the collector type, and I love comic books. The funny thing in our family was that there would always be a couple of comic books on a shelf in our loo... hours of fun, while the rest of the family was banging on the door :D

And Drei ??? Kassetten (I do hopw all the Germans will go aaaawwww right about now). Those are tapes of stories about three kid detectives which I think still are hugely popular in Germany.
Whenever I can't sleep, I'll put one in, turn it really quiet and listen to the stories I know by heart anyway. Great way to help me sleep and helps against nightmares, too.

Incorrect. All children between the ages of 2 and, about 12 or so, are incredibly sadistic. Ever wonder why they enjoy all those gruesome fairy-tales by the Brothers Grimm and their ilk? Or sing songs and nursery rhymes such as "Three Blind Mice"? Kids are born sadists, and it's the job of their parents to teach them not to. Mine didn't, at least not well enough. :D

i hear that :)

these days i do tend to be a bit serious, i have to say...

like my personality profile says:

People who don't know them well may see their unique way of life as a sign of carefree light-heartedness, but the ISFP actually takes life very seriously, constantly gathering specific information and shifting it through their value systems, in search for clarification and underlying meaning.

...

Life is not likely to be extremely easy for the ISFP, because they take life so seriously, but they have the tools to make their lives and the lives of those close to them richly rewarding experiences.

...

ISFPs are warm and giving people, who have a depth of emotion and caring which is not often obvious to others, except those who know them extremely well. They are usually intense people, who experience their emotions on an intense level. Although they may appear to be light-hearted, they are in fact extremely serious, and take their relationships seriously. Unlike other SP types, people with the ISFP type desire and seek lifelong, committed relationships.

my relationship with glitzi brings out both my silly, childlike side of funness, and also seriousness, strength and so much... its really a very rewarding and fulfilling relationship :) :fluffle:
(though it can be difficult sometimes with us both often being quite emotional and serious...)
