its late, i'm kinda tired... but i hate sleeping. well, i hate going to sleep. i love sleeping once i am asleep - god help you trying to wake me, heh.

so, a cookie to the first person to convince me to bother to go to sleep. (since i won't be available to deliver said cookie to the winner, you'll just have to google your own prize.... which means you can actually win anything you want! woo!)

Meh. I get three to four hours a night and I’m just fine. Wake up in the morning better than some people who get eight or nine.

Depends for me. Late projects (and mix it in with NS): could be up till 1.

Average nights: 10:00. I like my sleep.

In college.... who knows when I'll get to bed. Probably some ghastly hour.

If you don't go to sleep, what will you do? Post on here, most likely. Which is better - posting on here, or sleeping? Meh. Do what you want. No skin off my nose. How crap will you feel in the morning if you don't sleep now? Have you got a day off?

More to the point - why am I watching Goldeneye at half past midnight, when I should be asleep so I can get up early in the morning and see my girlfriend asap tomorrow (I haven't seen her for 4 weeks)?

Go to sleep, PM, for tomorrow you shall...erm...work. Possibly.

i function best on at least 10 hours. am in shitty mood tonight though - another one of those times when i don't want to go to sleep as all it'll mean is having to get up tomorrow (and do it all again). ok, i feel that most nights... but strongly tonight, heh.

stupid bodies... needing sleep. i could be doing so many more productive things for the next 9 hours, like watching the original star wars trilogy!

Wait! I just remembered something.

I talked to my doctor and he said that if you haven't slept for 72 hrs, you're clinically insaine.

Last week, my high school's music department (including me) went on a trip to D.C. Two sophomores I knew attempted to accomplish the clinically insaine status and tried to stay up for 72 hours. They only managed ~48.

One of the two guys fell asleep with his eyes open, and he still had his Xbox controller in his hands playing halo. The next mornin (more like, later that day), he woke up and had no idea where he was.

How about you catch up on sleep for me. I'm really tired and sleep is nowhere in sight for me. Although running up four miles of hill tends to make one tired. Especially when one is toting a rifle and a fifty pound pack.

If they truely wanted to be insane, they shoulda had ecstacy.

However, they'd be expelled from our High School, and get everyone in their room sent back home for drugs.

The overweight tend to need more sleep because they tend to have less energy and get tired easier. If you got in shape you might be able to stay up later without as much issues. Of course, at first you’d be exhausted all the time…

my hobby is sleeping - I love it- I love to dream as well - getting to sleep is no problem for me (although waking up is) - I can sleep for 12 hours a night if I had the time - if I dont get at least 8 hours of sleep I am useless for the day - the best thing about sleeping is dreaming (especially nightmares because once you wke up out of a nightmare you are happy because the nightmare is no longer reality) - a good flyign dream or lucid dream really makes me happy too.

It'll be both. My college has a pool and with a 4000 yrd practice every morning, that'll help keep me in shape. And will give me the ability to stay up late! Bonus!

Buy modafinil. You can get a prescription from an online pharmacy whether you have the disorder the drug was originally created for - low-grade narcolepsy - or not. It's a non-addictive non-stimulant with no known serious adverse effects that allows you to stay up for a max of 72 hours straight, I think, before your alertness begins to suffer. Before that point, you're actually more awake and alert than if you were sleeping normally and not on the drug. Coolest of all, once you're off it you only need 8 hours of sleep to 'catch up' - a regular night's rest! It's really an amazing chemical.

"Sleep, that's where I'm a Viking!"

I did a doc on gamers following them around a convention. I was the only crew person (curses!) and one of the guys didn't sleep for 54 hours, so I didn't get to sleep for 54 hours because I was waiting for him to crack.

I would stay "up all night" in this thread without any problems.

Somehow, at some point during last week I started going to bed later and later and all of the sudden it was 06:00 or 07:00. Now I'm not tired in the evening but it's tough to get up early for university.

Meh.

Does anyone remember some tv show called "up all night"? It somehow rings a bell but it's more than a decade ago that I last watched it. End of 1994 to be precise.

Oh, and I looked up this modafinil stuff. It's treated as a narcotic in Germany and I would need a special subscription. Bah.

Bah, I've done that. I didn't sleep for a week when I was in Iraq. Of course, when I did finally get to sleep I literally passed out on the hood of my HMMWV and slept for something like 12 hours, which I haven't done since I was in high school.

You know how when you're sick and you wake up with a fever and a headache it's this really wierd feeling? That's the feeling I had.

I never sleep. I am always staring down at you, watching you: from Barad-dûr, the Dark Tower; from the Palantírs; from the posters plastered on every wall; from the top of the Ministry of Love, the place where there is no darkness, above the words inscribed there as a monument forever to the glory of Oceania:

WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

So sleep, or lie awake; rest in security knowing that I am always watching.... watching.... watching........ /voice fades away into the distance/
