Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart
I must say, I trust these guys more than regular news. Why? Because I know there isn't capitalist propaganda in here. They speak the truth, how ever comically twisted it may be. Who here agrees with me that these guys are more trust-worthy than The Today Show?
Well, they certainly deliver thye news in an enjoyable way...

They seem to ask the questions the press won't ask anymore.
"So which is the next dictator we are taking down?" :D
Good evening, this is the fake news.
The Daily Show - the only news program with no credibility left to lose.
This ad was payed for by someone who thought it was kind of funny that Vice President Dick Cheney shot a 78-year-old man in the face, after mistaking him for a small bird.

Yes, because its more entertaining it's easily digestable. Though the mainstream have been trying this for years with crappy gossip rumors, which celebrity is getting a divorce, and other the "flecing of America" kind of reports, stuff that really isn't news but is simply entertaining. Look at the Countdown with Keith Oblermen, which is the news+TRL.
Comedy Centreal though is owned by Viacom which also owns CBS. So it's not exactly anti-capitalist. Viacom being a public company with shares. But since it's on cabel and not local TV, and since it's satirical news (much like my favorite newspaper the Onion) i think the investers don't care much.

You don't like the president and John Stewart finds news and presents it in a way to make fun of the president and those associated with him. Since he gives you news in a way that agrees with your personal opinions, you interpret that as "more trustworthy than the regular news".

They spend far more time satarizing the media, really. And they make a fair amount of fun of democrats, too. Do the republicans get more? Yes, as Jon explained once, "They control the executive, legislative, judicial...They're the ones in charge. We're not going after the Washington Generals."
But some republicans (and claimed centrists who are really conservatives) have no sense of humor and think everything is about them, so they don't notice when they do make fun of the democrats and liberals because "Oh no! They made fun of the president!!"

I really don’t think that that’s the intention of two middle aged men who make most of their money through capitalist advertising…
I think you may be confusing capitalist propaganda with Judeo-Christian-Patriotic-Jingoistic propaganda, which the two aptly satire and berate.
Stewart is funnier, but Colbert isn't bad either.

I almost couldn't stand Colbert on the Daily Show, but for some reason I enjoy the Colbert Report more than the Daily Show now. Maybe the guy just grows on you.

I agree Naliitr. Colbert and Stewart are the best newscasters. They inform me on politics and other things, but in a funny way that makes me pay attention. Other news is just too depressing. Every 10 seconds, someone is raped, killed in a crash, sets their house on fire, or a crashes a plane into the twin towers. I know this is news, but I really dont want to ruin my day and feel depresed.

On the reliability thing-they are a satirical set of shows that require you to already be aware of whats going on to appreciate the joke. They are not, and do not pretend to be (well, they pretend as part of the satire but you know what I mean), an actual news source. It is taken as understood that their interpretation of the news is going to be skewed towards the joke, to the satire. It is not accurate as much as it is funny. There is no investigative branch, they are taking the mainstream that goes to everyone and mocking that. It is a neccisary function, don't get me wrong, and I love both shows a little too much, insisting sometimes on going on less sleep than I should just to watch, but they are not a news source, they are a satire. Satirists sometimes can tell a truth that others can't, but don't mistake it for news.

He has about 80-some threads anyways, sets up a few per day. Evebtually he has to start ripping himself off.

Without Couric, the masturbatory material is a little different and confusing. :(
That kinda defaults me towards Colbert's cute little ear and Stewarts happy, blinky, encouraging smile (you know, where he rests his chin on his hands) :)
