Well, the article seems to imply that it's a medical problem rather than him simply overeating.
Uribe's case puzzles doctors since his cholesterol and blood-sugar levels are normal, despite his extreme obesity.

If you hit 260, you're fine. You may be overweight depending on how tall you are or how much muscle mass you have, but usually there's nothing to worry about. When you hit 300, you should worry. When you hit 4,5,6,700? Go nuts and do jumping jacks for three years straight. 1200? Good lord.

260 was not fine, I was morbidly obese. I had high blood pressure, trouble chasing my kids, and my knees kept popping out of place. Denial is the game of a weak mind. According to 'the charts' I should weigh about 120, but my doctor said 140-160 is just fine (which btw is pretty depressing when you figure out you have to lose an entire model and a half worth of weight to get to "just fine")

surely if you met someone who was anorexic you wouldn't be so cruel, you wouldn't say "oh wow, you weigh 10 pounds, you skinny bitch, it's all your fault" you would realize that she was sick yes?

HOW THE HELL DO THEY EXPECT TO GET THAT THING TO ITALY?! You'd need a crane just to get him on a boat, and I'm sure someone would say it's inhumane to put him in a shipping crate. If he would even fit, that is.
And seriously, how can you get that fat without seeking medical attention. Did he get like that overnight? Or did he pass 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000, and 1100 pounds with out saying "I think there might be something wrong with me."

You have to imagine that at least 500 or 600 pounds ago, he must have lost his ability to get whatever he eats himself.
So since then, someone else has been bringing him way too much low quality food. That person(s) could have helped prevent him from reaching this point.
