Does Stephen Harper eat babies or not?

An LED sign that flashes informative messages on board a Canadian train was hacked to include the message "Stephen Harper eats babies". Now the article quotes a guy named Nichols who states that he's never seen Harper eat a baby, but that doesn't prove that he hasn't eaten any.

You know, in this day and age it's not the claimer that has to prove, it's the accused, so, umm, Harper is guilty until he has managed to prove that he has indeed never partaken of succulently tender baby flesh.

I have no idea about Canadian politicians, but I'm sure John Prescott will eat anything.

Perhaps he ate the babies that were the result of his 'business' with his secretary!

You've seen those pictures, right?

You know... the one where the kid is pinching Harper's face - you know damn well that kid is just protecting himself.

I liked it best when the spokesperson for the rail company apologised to anybody who was offended, including the prime minister! then I realised stephen harper might actually be prime minister in canada!

If he kills kittens, then he's morally bound to eat babies as well.

Now we just have to find out whether he kills kittens or not.

"Now why do witches burn?"
"Because they're witches!"
...
"Because they're made out of wood?"
"Exactly! So how do we find out whether she is a which? We see if she is made out of wood. How do we find out whether she's made out of wood?"
"Build a bridge out of her?"
...

The Conservative Party in Canada under Mr. Harper seems to have embraced a moderately watered down neoconservative platform. He also seemed to be taking his cues from our beloved President and Fuhrer for life, George W. Bush.

How Canadians can even countenance anything that remotely has to do with US politics stuns me.

How Canadians could even narrowly elect the Conservative Party to lead a minority government stuns me. Just knowing Harper would be in charge would have been enough for me to vote for any other reasonable alternative.

But, then again the Australians have had John Howard as their PM for what seems like close to two decades and he is a nitwit too.

So far, it appears Stephen Harper's government has made a conscious effort to be moderately moderate. They're enacting those things they said they would in the most recent campaign, and they're not going any farther.

It's a sound strategy. The Liberals have been telling Canadians for more than a decade that the Reform-Alliance-Conservative parties have been frightening and evil, so now Harper is taking his opportunity in government to demonstrate otherwise.

Maybe Harper will add Babies to the National Food Guide? Or will he just slide that one into Meat and Alternatives?

I rather thought that Llewdor's comment was helpful, at least to me. I know the previous platform that the Conservatives under Harper ran on and I know the current platform that he is acting on.

I am struck by the fact that he actually has left the gay marriage laws intact. In the past he has been rabidly against same-sex marriage.

Despite the fact I am liberal, it heartens me to see politicians being moderate and making considered decisions. I'm sorry it's the Conservatives taking that approach, because it will prolong their stay at the head of a national Canadian government.
