I am a social democrat. I think it's time this country was a bit more open minded and held its' leaders accountable and to stem the tide of corporate greed and abuse. And that more time and money should be put into the enviroment, education, health, and alternative fuel sources. That we stop shoving capitalism down the throats of other nations and be equals to the nations of the world, instaed of acting superior. There should be heavier taxes on corporations, nationalizing of key industries, and a drastic cut on corporate tax breaks. Free healthcare and gay marriage.

What you mean by US standards? Then it’s irrelevant. Most who vote in this country are voting against liberalism or conservatism not for either.

I thought political scientists have moved onto 2-dimensional graphs to describes someone's political leanings? (the simple left-right one is a little limited). :mp5:

I am what you might call far-right wing. If I were to specifically sum myself up, I suppose I would be Christian Libertarian Nationalist.

This consists of many, many different arguments on many, many different issues, and I cannot hope to cover them all here. Just someone bring up a specific issue and I'll comment on it.

Yes, I like this chart much better. I am on the most extreme possible of the economic freedoms and strongly on the social freedoms, putting me with Thomas Jefferson (OKCupid politics test)

I'm an athiest Libertarian who supports gay marriage, legalized prostitution, legalized drugs(though I'd never use them myself) and all that jazz, along with as little tax as possible, efficient government, streamlined welfare and other programs, and all that jazz.

What I would be under the American definition, I have no idea.

I am in support of free healthcare and support gay marriage. Just because they're gay doeesn't mean they're sub-human.

No, you are somewhere at the edge on complete economic oppression, and could be either at the anti-personal freedoms (complete totalitarianism like Stalinism) or pro-personal freedoms (the people are the government's pet like what Hippies want) part.

Yay, you conflict with all of my beliefs of "do whatever the hell you want just don't expect me to pay for it or offically recognize it as good and/or right". I usually leave off the last part as it genrally takes some explanation, and in its current form does not completely sum up what I mean.

I'm a internationalistic secularist libertarian socialist with Marxist and anarchist influences.

Why? Because I think that national divisions are arbitrary, that states are unnecessarily authoritarian, that freedom is the most important aim of any worthy society, that capitalism creates illegitimate hierarchies that violate both freedom and egalitarianism, and that religion is based upon allegiance to a deity to whom we do not owe allegiance (if He exists, still an open question.)

is 10 far-right? I chose 10, but I am not far-right, but rather very pro-market, 2-tier healthcare, private industries, lower corporate taxes(if any). but socially, i want "some" control. i don't want people smoking pot, or pedophiles getting released 2 years later(to commit the crime again)

Hey, Erikland, or however you spell that...
Oh, no, I have a CLOSE-MINDED FASCIST breathing down my neck.

I believe in personal freedom, but I ame not a "hippie," Adolf. I think that everybody should actually be equal, instead of in an almost impossible to break class system. Don't even start about how they already are equal, they aren't and under capitalism they never will be. I know how impractical that might sound, but it's better than just letting the class gap get wider, and wider, and wider...
You think you might be a little biased about my beliefs? Don't even talk to me about my biases towards yours, you've just proved a bunch of them true, like, say, close-mindedness.
Next time you're thinking about spouting the stuff you hear from Fox News, please stuff the nearest sock in your mouth. :upyours:

I took some test once and it told me I was socialist, even though I never considered myself to be socialist. Honestly, my political beliefs are still naive and I'm not as well informed as I should be. I went towards the liberal side completely based on what that test told me about myself. Oh well.

No need for the insults, my friend. If you took me for being angry, I assure you I was not.

As for the Fascist comments, they are entirely unwarrented. The fascists were socialistic racists, and I am neither.

I did not say you were a hippie, I was merely listing the most extreme cases of the circumstances that I spoke of.

Here you actually almost stop insulting me and get to the meat of your argument, which is what I would like to see in the future.

Of course I am biased! Everyone is somewhat biased about everything they have ever had any contact with! At least I didn't attack you viciously (or at all). As you requested, I shall avoid mentioning your biases towards my beliefs, though they are extreme. In what way did I prove I was close minded? I don't recall such an instance, though you may be able to clear this up for me.

And I don't believe I "spouted" anything, certainly not anything from FOX news.

Now, for the future, please calm down and discuss these matters like a rational human being. You treat me with respect and I shall do the same for you.

I have been accused of being brainwashed by the Republican party, and also, of being "too liberal to be a real Christian" whatever that means.....in the same day

according to the extremists on both sides of the spectrum in my "real life" I am a centrist  which would probably be okay, but I think I do have a conservative slant.... so I don't know.

you guys tell me. ;)

Even better. Google "OKCupid Politics Test" and take that. It is not completely accurate, and the "Fascist" section being seperate from the "Totalitarian" section doesn't make much sense, but since you shouldn't fall into either of those regions it shouldn't matter.

depends, do you hold the necessary beliefs because they were good enough for grandpa or because they advance the revolutionary project of human liberty?
