yeah i dont think that such an absurd plot could last much longer anyway. its kinda like how those very funny absurd movies only last 90 minutes.

im not fond of opera. not enough attention to acting, too many sopranos. G&S is a hoot no matter if you have to sit though a song or two that is sung way too high.

whoops sorry bout that.

the worst opera i ever sat through was being dragged to Carmen when i was little. you'd think the heroine getting stabbed would help, but damn it took her a long time to die, and she sang a lot doing it. like a halfhour extension of Shakespeare's characters saying "I am killed."

the first opera i ever saw was (i think) rigoletto when i was attending michigan state university

rigoletto was singing pitifully at the front of the stage searching for his daugher while she was being carried screaming offstage by 2 men RIGHT BEHIND HIM. i was the only one laughing until i cried.

Gnawing my tongue off in boredom because none of my paychecks have arrived yet and I have no gas in the only van that can go on the road without being pulled over, and it's just slightly too much hassle to try and transfer the gas from one van to the other.

So my Tuesday evening is a lot about what I won't be doing. I won't be depositing my checks, I won't be paying my overdue cable bill, I won't be hanging out with my friends that I haven't seen since three jobs ago, I won't be buying a phat sack, I won't be getting a Autero Fuente Exquisito maduro wrap cigar or Schimmelpinnick tin, I won't be finally breaking down and buying a Leatherman Wave or small flashlight or radio belt from a Army/Navy store because carrying the walkies in my cargo pockets is a drag, I won't be getting a burrito from the only burrito bar near me that I haven't had a burrito from, I won't be ordering a new transmission for Veronica or paying her parking tickets and insurance so I can drive her again.

I won't be doing much of anything. I was going to say that not having money when a whole bunch is coming in is worse than just not having any money because there are things you know you can take care of, just not yet, but that's so totally wrong. Knowing that there are things you need to take care of and have no idea where the money is going to come from is far far worse.
