Eventually, one nation will rise above and meet the US in status and economic power. Judging by current events and economic strength, who do you believe will be the next superpower?
I don't really see the US as a super power.

I'd have to say the Germans. Their efficiency and ability to build superior goods would make them a leader in the economic sense.

Unless China levels out its massive growth rate, it's going to explode.
India has all the basics, and with the Russian-Chinese-Indian economic pact made a while ago, it'll be able to grow faster, making it the next superpower.
Both China and India are rapidly progressing towards superpower status.

Hopfully the next superpower will be us. That is, humanity.
We've gone from tribe to city states to empires to modern states to multipolar power to two super powers to one superpower. If the trend towards integration continues we will end up with one superpower that comprises the entire world.

WTF is Monaco doing up there? We'd take over Finland after Iceland! Then Alaska, then Russia, and before you know it, Canada owns the Northern hemisphere. THEN, the entire globe will be ours!

Who in the mind would put down Saudi Arabia ?! The moment the economical oil runs out it'd just be another sandy kingdom with 90% unemployment. Right now the Saudi unemployment rate is between 50%-60% depending on how do you fiddle the numbers.
