I found this quite funny. (http://www.engrish.com/detail.php?imagename=unclesam.jpg&category=Toys&date=2004-03-23)
Simple mistake, or political statement?

I guess it's true...kind of a social commentary in a way.

However, nothing beats the (rumored?) Santa Claus crucifixon at a Japanese department store in its Christmas display.

Maybe they're the ones that you take home to meet your parents?

Apparently.

There's also this:

http://www.engrish.com/image/engrish/eggs-of-sacred-crane.jpg

Though the main bit is the sacred crane, I find "the taste will probably satisfy you" to be much more hilarious, considering it's the most accurate assessment of any food product I've ever seen, as opposed to the usual "THIS STUFF TASTES LIKE MELTING AWESOME DRIPPING DOWN YOUR THROAT LEAVING BEHIND BUDDING PLANTS OF PURE HEAVEN!" type of advertisements on products.

I'd buy it just to find out if it will.

There's a reverse-engrish site around about the douches that get Asian-language characters tattooed on them, that they think means something 'cool', when it means what ever sick thing the tat artist thought up..

Ah, good old Engrish.com. I've been fortunate enough to have seen the infamous "spread beaver" t-shirt in it's natural habitat. (Check the "Adult Engrish" section.)

In addition to the Nose photo shop (http://www.engrish.com/image/engrish/nose-photo-studio.jpg), I've seen the "Nose cleaning" shop (a dry cleaners in the town of Nose (http://www.town.nose.osaka.jp/), a suburb of Osaka.

Additionally, much humor is to be had from the regional name of the Kobe/Osaka/Kyoto area - such as the "Kinky Love Hotel"...

Simple mistake, or political statement?

Definately a mistake.

Urban legend.

Someone needs to tell Lunatic Goofballs about the mud filled paradise (http://www.engrish.com/image/engrish/mud-filled-paradise.jpg)!

And just for Monkeypimp: http://www.hanzismatter.com/ (The April 18th tat is priceless).

*snip*

The first Engrish I encountered was when someone sent me a link to the spread beaver t-shirt on engrish.com. I just about pissed my pants laughing! My sister (who's living in Japan at the moment) gave me an engrish.com book for christmas. She takes lots of photos of the shops & has sent me a couple of peices of engrish clothing too. I can't get enough of it. :D

Yeah, that's why before getting any kind of tattoo in a different language, especially if it has a different alphabet, you get the advice of someone who understands said language, and who you trust not to pull a very cruel practical joke on you.
