It depends. Worldwide the stats are something like 50/50. In industrialized countries AIDS is concentrated mostly in gay people, drug users, and some other at-risk groups.

Sounds promising, but until the initial trials are done, we will have to wait and see. Lets hope it will be affordable as well.

Interesting notion, could this gel or the important ingredient in it be added to condom lubricant?

The reason for that statement is because AIDS is still seen in many places as a gay man's disease.
