I think they did an outstanding job of painting it, especially considering the price: $511.00 US. But I don't like the color of the vinal back panel with the new red body color, so I think I'm going to change it over to white.
I spent $500.00 on the car, $500 on the paint job, and about $700.00 ( so far ) on repairing all the mechanical problems we could find. By the time I'm finished fixing it up the way I want it, I estimate it will cost about $2,000.00 ( not including the sound system I'm going to put in and then take back out when I get ready to sell it ). Not bad, considering I'm going to have a car that will drive well, look decent, last awhile and not require making car payments. :D

The lowrider is a little higher
Lowrider drives a little slower
Lowrider is a little poor
Lowrider knows every street, yeah
Lowrider is the one to meet, yeah
Lowrider don't use no gas, now

hmm there must be something that can be done about that turning problem (don't want the stupid thing tipping over either  )... maybe adding some weight to the chassis might help. a v8 engine would be doubly useful then! :p :D
though if i got one it'd have to be a total project... not just psychedellic paintjob on the outside, but lavalamps everywhere, oil projectors on the cieling, and, yes, a kitchen and groovy bed (be great for festivals!)

You don't necessarily have to go with low-pro tires. It's the size of the actual wheel. Based on that picture I'd say you've got 15s or 16s. I'm just saying that I think the car would look better with bigger wheels that filled out the wheel well a little bit more.

You have to make sure if you do get bigger rims that they're still roughly the same spoke design as the ones you have. Don't get anything like these:

because they would look like shit.

Spinners belong on Escalades and Denalis.
Maybe up there in the Great White North, but here in the ATL, spinners go on any old POS. The older the Cutlass, the more appropriate it is to put expensive rims on the car.

You have to make sure if you do get bigger rims that they're still roughly the same spoke design as the ones you have. Don't get anything like these:

because they would look like shit.
Something like this:

Classy. Maybe not so many spokes as this one; it's kind of busy. But you get what I'm saying.
Yup. I do get what you're saying. It's just that I'm unable to visualize those on that car. Don't forget that the damned thing was made in the 1980s. Heh!

It'll look pimp, for sure. Especially if you ditch the black vinyl for white. But talk to your guy. He might be able to help you out visually.

Where are the spinners? No ride like that is complete without a $5000 set of rims!
You did read that the car is only going to be worth about $2,000 even AFTER having been fixed up, yes?

LOL! Uh ... I don't want it to look "pimped out" any more than is absolutely necessary. :p

Volvos were built that way for many years, largely because of their insistence on building safe cars. I like Volovs, or use to before their merger with Ford. :(
One of the good things that came out of the Ford's acquisition of the British Leyland brands was the Jag chassis on the new Mustangs. I test drove one the other day and it was FUN!

That's the irony in the way things seem to work. The POS Cutlass that's barely worth $500 gets a $5000 set of rims. Drive around Atlanta sometime, RDU is probably similar, and look at what the ghetto kids are driving.

I know! I saw one the other day with HUGE rims and those low-profile tires and thought "WTF, over??" If they can find the money to buy expensive rims, why don't they find the money to buy a decent car?
