I feel kinda bad
I saw my dad for lunch today and he gave me $30. I'm flat broke at the moment, so the money is appreciated, but he and my mom help me out so much already and I feel bad accepting more money. Maybe it was because I kept talking about the job hunt so he thought I could use some money.

If you really feel that bad, you could give the money to me...:p
Shut up and take the money. They're your parents. That's what they're for in crises.

Your parents have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars on you and your siblings--if you have any--throughout your entire life. Thirty dollars is not all that much. That said, if you really do feel bad about it, you could--when you get a job--set aside ~40% of your paycheck to paying them back every cent you owe them. =/

If you want to cut back expenses: try looking for an abandoned house or an already existing squat, squatters are really friendly people.

I'm in school right now, any money I make will end up going towards school for a while. I plan on paying them back for their help with my schooling when I've got a real job and am done school. And I'm really working hard on the job thing. It's going to be harder than anticipated since I just found out now that I can't serve alcohol as the place I did the test for my certification didn't send the test out to the proper facility. Now I have to try to get my money back from them and retake the test and still, that's a lot of places I though I'd be able to find work at where I really can't.

i give my son money all the time. its a pleasure to be able to do it. its nothing to feel guilty over as long as you arent taking advantage of them to the extent that you dont have to do for yourself and you arent compromising their finances.

and to make you feel even worse... At least you have a dad :(
lol - don't worry about it - I'm sure you will make it up to them when you move your parents into your house and take care of them.:p

hey, they are your parents, if they feel like it's cool to give you money don't question it.
however, if you feel guilty being a "taker" then be a "giver" surely there is something you can do that they need that doesn't require money, go over and mow their lawn or go with your mom to the farmers market and help her get stuff in the car, anything really to spend time with them, parents like that. ;)

Well, I'm going home next weekend, so I'll spend some time with them then. :)

that will be good, also, I was just thinking about how when my mom was helping me out, I would make her a goofy thank you card, complete with glue and glitter, she thought it was hilarious, and hung it up on the fridge. LOL didn't matter to her that I was 17 and way past the glitter and glue stage, she thought it was priceless. :p
