I love it. I have the T&P expansion as well.

The world map campaigns are great.

I like it too. I like playing with the Aztecs or the Mayans. Good stuff.

Yep, it's a fun game.

Um...not much more to say...it's simply...fun!

Yes, the game rocks. But we need more questions to answer! So...how about everyone list their three fav nations to play?

For me it's:

1. Iroquois
2. Mayans
3. Americans

Too much micromanagement in my opinion, and the units keep chasing enemies into enemy territory, and then they die of attrition damage - how frustrating. I know you can set them to "defensive", but then, they just stand there and watch as a town beside them is being attacked.

I liked Red Alert much more, because it was simple yet fun, and there aren't so many things to overwhelm you.

Well, lesse here...

1. Americans by far. Not only am I an American myself, I find they have the nicest balance when it comes to everything, especially those nice free bombers. Free government upgrades gives me a nice advantage. I wish they hadn't cut out that free science research in some of the newer patches though.

2. Russians. That extra attrition damage is an incredible asset, as is the nice little extra raze resources.

3. Germans. Can you say tank rush?

4. British. Gotta love longbowmen in the early periods, and then those Lancaster bombers. Nice stuff.

And...that's it, really. I haven't exactly tried everyone out, now that I think about it. Maybe I should get around to that. =/

I'll explain my three choices.

Iroquois.

The super-scouts are awesome early on. And the free scout with each barracks- well, again, early, it gives you quite an advantage.

Unit auto-heal- by far the best attribute. As long as they are in your territory, they heal. Don't have to be garrisoned or anything. I've had near dead armies holding an assimilating city all of a sudden come back to life when the city becomes mine. Also really useful for patrol troops.

Units invisible in own territory- again, great for patrol troops- and setting up aggressive players who think- hey, he has no troops here, let me invade this city or attack this fort- then all of a sudden they are surrounded. Sweet.

+10% hp for barracks units kicks ass too- especially when they heal themselves

Mayans-

The reduced wood cost is great, particularly on desert maps. Also, the stronger buildings help. But I love the extra fire from forts and such. And the free firing cities is nice in the early game too.

Americans- free wonder? Kickass! And those souped up light infantry... can anyone say Terra Cotta Army?

The Brits would be #4- the archers of course, and the longer range for forts. But their best attribute is the higher production limit

It's a cheap rip-off of EE (Empire Earth)

EE is also a great game. Haven't bought EE2 yet, I'm waiting for the innevitable bundle with the expansion pack.

Yes, I played Rise of Nations. And on that play-through, I almost fell asleep.

The gameplay was unbelievably boring compared to my favorite strategy games of the day --- Civilization III and Empire Earth. Not only that... That graphics were very generic, the sound effects were unnecessarily bad, and the "city building" mechanic was laughable.

I'm probably going to get a lot of whineshit for this, but if that's so, then so be it. Somebody needs to call out RoN for the piece of trash it is.

I liked it more than most other RTS games. That doesn't say too much though.

What I found most lacking were the naval battles, the lack of defense structures and the whole economic part.
