What Makes You Mad

I believe everyone has a magic "do not go there" button, that when pushed, results in a super-duper fiery response.

What does it for you?

People who are arguing/debating with you about something, but refuse to listen to your point of view! That annoys me soooo much!

Eutrusca learned that my "do not go there" is suggesting that legal and cultural gender equality is not something to strive for. People who even hint at the idea that women aren't as capable as men in some areas AND vice versa tend to get the short end of my temper.

People. People create the situations, or the ideologies, or whatever it is. That being said, its ultimately the person that creates their own point of view that allows them to get upset at things.

I'm not convinced. Bad situations can make an ass out of anyone. It is the chicken-and-the-egg story.

People who even hint at the idea that women aren't as capable as men in some areas AND vice versa tend to get the short end of my temper.Well, seriously, men aren't as capable as women in bearing children.. Simple equipment inadequacy.

There's some average differences in several areas, but as usual in-group variance in greater than between-group variance.

Thursday IS often "ladies' night" at the dance clubs.Well, today is "Girls Day" in Germany, where girls from school classes get introduced to all sorts of "typical men jobs", in order to reduce the reluctance of women to enter such jobs.

This reminds of a quotation from some nature show comparing bonobos, chimps and people. Not verbatim, btw.

"What is unique about human beings is that sometimes they inflict harm on another human beings as if they were from another species."

It varies from club to club, but it generally means no cover charge and maybe free drinks up to a point.

Interesting! I hope there are ladies in those careers that are talking to the girls. That's part of the problem I suppose, some of those jobs (mainly engineering and technical ones) have so very few women. The idea is to teach them that they can do those jobs, even if it's men doing the teaching.

Illogicality. I get very frustrated when people don't bow to logic. It shits me. Theres nothing I can do, I'm right, but they don't think so. Logic versus beleif/stubborness. Consequently, things based faith and/or illogical deductions shit me. Think rascism, religion, ultra-rightism, ultra-leftism, morality...
Most issues have a logical solution/stance, but they are all avoided in the name of morality, political corectness, idealism, or just plain old ignorance.

Wish it were true, mate. I know some such people who reach high places. The most effective "arseholes" are those who never get mad and never change their views. They don't introspect and they don't care what you say. People around them die in exasperation and anguish.

I would argue that these people actually live longer.

I can't stand being held up when I'm in a rush, particularily by slow counter staff at Greggs in the morning (Bakery).

It's going to to be your busy time in the morning (breakfast) and at mid-day (dinner time) so why don't you go sort out the cake display or take your break at a different time of the day?:headbang:

It happened yesterday at dinner, the poor slow witted woman behind the counter took an age to get my sandwich before asking me; "Would you like anything else?"

"Yes, do you have any doughnuts?"

"Well no, but we do have these yam-yams, they are like doughnuts just a bit sweeter" She pointed below the counter...

"What? Those things next to the doughnuts?"

"erm... yes."

"I'll have a doughnut, please."

Unbelievable!

Idiots. Plain and simple. So basicly, the majority of the human race. How these people manage to not all kill themselves before reproducing I don't know, but they live in such numbers that they just won't die off! :(

Oh yes, and those "I fear for your soul" people :upyours:

I typically don't feel so much anger. My emotional response is kind of damaged, and my ability to get pissed off limited. Altought I only feel moderately angry at best (best as in when I manage to get the angriest; I actually appreciate when I do, and whenever I notice I'm getting angry, I try to get angrier. I'm trying to recover my ability to get angry, and have so far gone quite far, from being completely unable to get angry about a year ago when I lost the ability), I coldly act like if I was angrier than I really am when I get into a situation in which I feel that I *should* get really pissed off. (not being able to is immensely frustrating)

As for what would make me furious if I could become so:

1. People who deliberately do things to irritate me, over and over again. It doesn't take long before I feel like cold-bloodedly killing them. (if doing so wouldn't have any negative consequencies, I would gladly do so)
2. Loud, obnoxious morons. (any and all braindead hyper-extroverts that loudly babble mindlessly) I wish I could kill them on the spot as soon as I notice them.
3. Slimy, manipulative people. Especially if they grin like morons. For example, many female celebrities (who has among the slimiest grins imagineable on their faces, which in turn look like they are made of more-or-less oily rubber due to the makeup. whenever I see a picture of such a supposedly "attractive" celebritie displaying her stupid, disgusting grin on a newspaper, I wish I could stab her) and women in commercials.

Other than that, there aren't too many things that make me angry, or feel like I should be. The one other major thing, would be this, which I could just as well quote:
Illogicality. I get very frustrated when people don't bow to logic. It shits me. Theres nothing I can do, I'm right, but they don't think so. Logic versus beleif/stubborness. Consequently, things based faith and/or illogical deductions shit me. Think rascism, religion, ultra-rightism, ultra-leftism, morality...

Then there are plenty of minor things that annoy me to varying degrees, but none of those come even remotely close to the above, and typically hardly make me react at all.

I picked ideologies - in general that is, not specific ideologies. Of course, generally human incompetence, idiocity, and malice annoy me too.

This guy that split me and my girlfriend up last year... then was at a party with me (i didn't invite him), and he said loads of shit bout it and brought it all up, he tasted my fist a few times...
So technically a person caused me to go really mad, but then again i was in a situation, so what do i vote for?

Prejudice of any kind, against one's nationality, one's race, one's religion, one's gender, one's political orientation, one's sexual orientation, eye color, hair color, nose length or bubblegum flavor. By extention, prejudice manifesting from fear, ignorance or hatred falls under these catagories.

(Also one's "class", physical abilities, mental capacity, and pretty much anything you can think of)

So, I guess misreading thread titles makes me mad.
