It's a video of Leonard Nimoy singing "The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins." And yes, it is as odd as it sounds.

I have seen this. It is folklore among many people.

When I first saw this, I didn't know whether to laugh or run away.

Yep, and I've aped his version of "Rocketman" at karaoke. I got lighters swaying by the end of it. That's right.

ohgodohgodohgod. I think Leonard Nimoy was worse, really. Willam Shatner was too comical, Nimoy nearly caused my brain to explode.

Almost as odd as William Shatner singing "Rocket Man". Though the go-go girls in the Nimoy video are a really cheesy touch. Both are good for clearing the house of unwanted house-guests.

Yep, i heard about that. For the record, Brent Spiner has an album i saw in a Fairbanks pawn shop - Ol' Yellow Eyes is Back.

Perhaps take a gander here?

Or while we're at it, Shatner singing Pulp's 'Common People'
Or Shatner's and Nimoy's "If I had a hammer' duet?

Want to know something really frightening?

I have all those on my mp3 player.

The truly frightening thing is if those are the versions of the song you hear in your head when you think about the songs.

A video of Leonard Nimoy singing "The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins." And yes, it is as odd as it sounds.
You want to know what's worse than this?

I'll tell you.

It's when you're scanning through limewire and shareza for Weezer songs and you see a song you've never heard of by them, called 'Frodo' by Weezer on the LOTR soundtrack. Curious, you download it thinking all the time you didn't realise Weezer had done a track for LOTR.
It finishes downloading. You up the speaker volume and press play.
And Leonard Nimoy starts singing 'The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins'.
Truly thine ears doth start to bleed.

And then you realise some bastard out in cyberspace is having a good chuckle at your expense. Not looking at anyone in particular, but wouldn't be at all surprised if said evil bastard has the initials G & L, but not necessarily in that order.

I recently found a video of Patrick Stewart as Captain Picard doing a song and dance routine on the Enterprise Bridge set, complete with hat and cane. Thing is, he's rather a good singer. But I can't find the damn video.

EDIT: Found a version of it, with some annoying music and no vocal, but you can see him dancing.

My favorite is how the dancing girls seem to have Spock ears on. Yes, the hobbits had pointy ears too, but these are the outrageously oversized ones I remember from my childhood. (Yes, I'm pretty old by NS standards.)
