Not too fussed, but if pushed I'd say unionist. The main reason is that things seem to have settled down now with people being a lot more willing to work it out politically, and through dialogue. Best not to rock the boat; a union with the Republic would just set the loyalists off on a campaign of violence.

That reminds me of something I was reading about the murder of some man by one of the loyalist groups a few months ago.

He was wearing a Celtic top, so Sinn Fein went off on one about the murder of good Catholics and nationalists by loyalist paramilitaries.

Then it turned out he was in the UVF or something like that and he was killed as part of an internal feud.

Surprisingly enough, the story quickly got dropped by all political parties. Sinn Fein couldn't stomach a loyalist Catholoc, and the DUP couldn't do anything about a Catholic loyalist.

Bunch of idiots, the lot of them.

You went to college at Bennington? And you transfered? I'm looking at colleges now, and thought Bennington looked sort of interesting.

Yeah, I go to Wittenberg now.

And Bennington is absolutely nothing like you'd expect it to be, unless you expect it to be extremely single-minded. It's also mad hard to get into the classes that you need for your focus, and unless you're lucky enough to get into the Perkins house, chances are you'll have a crappy dorm. If you can get into classes, they're awesome, especially Japanese (which was my focus) and history under Eileen Scully. I met a lot of great people there, but there was a huge core of asses there too, a lot more than you'll find in a typical college. Additionally, having only 600 students and living in a place that's as small as Bennington makes for what we call the "Bennington syndrome," which basically leaves a person bat-guano crazy. There's at least one person related to Bennington (current or former student) who commits suicide every year, and considering the tiny size of the student body, that's insane.

It's really beautiful in Bennington though--I love the area, and would gladly live there again, but not to go to school, especially not for the price they charge. The price does not correspond well to the education received.

Perkins has Porn Wednesdays though, and Kilpat has the porn tree. There's the Dressed to Get Laid party in October and Transvestite Night on Parent's Weekend. Guy Fawkes Day is always celebrated with nudity around a bonfire, and nudity is celebrated every day because of the free nudity on campus. Pot is basically ignored because it's so common, and some of the security guards smoke with the students. Hallowe'en is a huge party on campus and everyone dresses up. There are theme parties almost every weekend. The cafeteria food is awesome and very vegetarian-friendly in comparison to what they serve here at Wittenberg >P.

It's hard to compare the two colleges because they're so different--Bennington doesn't have any sports teams, but Wittenberg has basically every sport; Bennington doesn't have a pool because it would attract "the wrong kind of people," Wittenberg has more ditzes than Daytona Beach during spring break; Bennington is in an idyllic Vermont town, Wittenberg is in the centre of the ghetto and there are car thefts and gang murders basically every day.

Honestly, now that I'm away from there, I appreciate Bennington a lot more. If you end up going there, realise what you're getting into. It's insane there.

Oh yeah, and a gazillion people from NYC go there, so if you're wanting to avoid homebodies, avoid Bennington. I think 80% of my friends there were from Midtown and Murray Hill.
