West Coast NS Meet?
Ok, there's been a ton of British NS meets. I have an idea for an NS meet on the American West Coast. This is primarily because I live there, and I don't want to go far for the meet. This is meant to get American NSers (Mainly west coast and middle americans) to meet up and well, meet. I say we meet in Sacramento's Arco Arena. I can probably rent out a small area to have a little party. If any western or central Americans feel this is a good idea, post here so that I can actually rent it and get a time so we can have an NS meet. Of course, if your crazy enough about meeting up with other NSers, I won't care where you come from, as long as you pay for your own plane tickets...
So post on here, and if I get 50 (Subject to change) people coming, I'll rent out a space and we can have an NS meet!

Even better. If we make it central it's more likely we could get everyone. Plus if it's in these two places, I can drive there.
If someone wants to organise a meet in my front garden I might go.

I like the idea of Sacramento, but good luck getting Arco Arena until the Kings are out of the Playoffs

Haha, no kidding. Although, I don't think anyone is really expecting them to advance past this round. :p Anyway, if it's in Sacramento I'll try to make it.

If we're going to be scheduling an American NS meet, how about we schedule like two or three, to cover the whole country.

Sorry, but if I'm the one paying for the party, and organizing the party, then I'm the one deciding where it's to be held.

thats a good idea..one in CA...one in maybe STL or INDY...and one somewhere else...to accomodate everyone
Aw c'mon, Sacramento may be in California but it's so far away from me...
Then again, even if one were held in the Los Angeles/Anaheim area, I couldn't go because no one'd take me... :(
One day...one day I'll be 16...

Just get your parents to take you. I'm sure they understand your obession with NS!
There are worse obsessions. If we had one in Cali I might be able to make it.

I own a bar/restuarant. if enough people are interested in the Seattle area. I would prefer a group of 10-12 to actually do it. Let me know by email in NS

I might actually be able to go to one in Seattle, since it's not too far away.

you know I refuse to travel that far, really. I was just thinking the other day though that there are a lot of people here from TX, OK, KS, and a few from MO. Maybe I should start a thred to recruit those people to meet up, somewhere central, like OKC... yeah, then I don't have to travel at all!!!!!!!!!!
but I could just hijack your thred for my own purposes......or start my own, but then that would be copy-cat or something.............
don't know what to do.......:(
I'll come as soon as I turn 5! ;)

I'd love to get together with some other NSers, even if I am a bit of a lurker, but Kentucky is a little too far from Sacremento. How about a meet for East and Middle Americans somewhere like St. Lous?

nah, I still say Oklahoma City, it's right in the middle of the darn country, surely it would be most fair.... and I wouldn't have to travel........

Well, let's see where the people are...I know there's quite a few in the midwest and BC...I dunno about other people. So speak up!

Areas with high concentrations of NSers include:
NEUS (COG: New York City)
MWUS (COG: St. Louis or thereabouts)
SWUS (COG: San Francisco, for example)
NWUS/BC (COG: Anywhere between Vancouver and Portland)
NWE (COG: Manchester)
SE (COG: London or any similar city)
AU (COG: Melbourne, where it all started)

Well, speaking as a college student with travel funds of...let's see...there's a penny...a mint....well, ok, no travel funds. Anyway, I'm in favor of anything close to the Miss. River. That's good driving distance for me. But, if it had to be somewhere central like OK, I'm sure I could con a few friends into a road trip.;)

I'm pretty sure the origional poster was just talking West Coast NSers here considering the title of the thread's title is "West coast NS meet" and all.
It's a great idea to organize something in other parts of the country to accomedate those who live in the midwest and the East, but how about for this particular topic, we focus on the West.
Obviously if you have no transportation, it sucks to be you but I still like the Idea of Sacramento.
...That'll do...But why St.Louis for Midwest?
Because..i am only an hour a way..really any further and I can't go...and everyone knows i am the life of the party! plus STL has the arch..and Busch stadium!

actually wrong kings. The kings that count are based in LA and aren't even in the playoffs. (go Avs)

How about we talk about what we're actually going to do at these meets. Preferably we should do some of the things in which we have already displayed a common interest, such as political debate and role playing. Doing those things in person would definately add a new element that can't be achieved online. Secondly we should do some things that are completely impossible online, like three legged races or some such silly endeavor.
I guess what we need is some sort of shedule of events (not necessarily a proper schedule, but just something resembling a list of possible activities). And name tags, we need those too.

As to the original point of holding these, here's a thought. Decide you want one in your area. Pick a place, pick a date, pick a time and start setting it up. Mention it here and you'll definitely get help. Until then we're all just stating the obvious, that we'd love to actual meet, and complaining that it doesn't happen. Things don't just happen. Let's make something happen.
