Would anyone be interested in helping me?

Hi all!

I'm curious about something, so I thought I'd pose the question out here.
I write what is called, "fanfiction," fanfiction for those of you that don't know is when you take characters from a book, movie, or tv show..etc and you write stories based on those characters from the book, movie, or tv show..etc.
I write fanfiction stories based on my two favorite Disney movies, "Pocahontas," and, "The Lion King," also sometimes on the tv show, "boy meets world."
I'm looking for people (that are serious in helping) to ither:
1. Read my story and to throw me ideas if any come to them.
2. Give constructive comments about the story (basically, to be a beta reader)
I would like 1 personally, cause I like discussing my stories and such.

My fanfic page is:

http://www.fanfiction.net/~sunrise19

Anyone interested?
Of course, you would have to have some interest in what I write..

P.S. Some people have been curious as to why I don't write original fiction, I'm not ready yet to take that next step. I like fanfiction and writing it is one of the few fun hobbies I have
(besides watching tv, watching the news, going online, hanging out with friends, listening to music.etc..)
For more insite see my thread entitled, "What's your favorite Disney movie?"
Or the other thread in the general forum, "I don't know why I'm actually friends with this person.."
That'll explain a lot..and thus why I'm actually asking for a writing partner, or for someone to discuss my writings with..and exchange ideas.

Uh... I'm a fellow fanfic author so I can understand where you're coming from, but this is hardly something for General isn't it?

I know there are anime fic boards and mailing lists so I'm sure there's a few Disney out there. Have you tried them?

A forum for fan fictions like those at fanfiction.net coms to mind. A Disney forum would be close. A forum devoted to political debate is probably a little off though.

Anyways, I've tried looking for something however what I've found iether no one posts or it's shut down..or whatever.
I had a friend who posted reguarly on forums devoted to stories about Gummi Bears (Disney cartoon). I mean, give me a break, there's got to be some out there.

I'm still trying..as for political debate, I've only seen a few of those.just for something different that's not the point however.
Thanks and I'll keep your suggestions in mind..

Come on people, be fair here.

Before messing around, try looking at the other threads she mentioned, particularly "I don't know why I'm actually friends with this person.... (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=479115)" You might decide that she has a point.

And this is general which is the right place to put this within the NS forums.

Have you ever made another tale along the story lines, what was it about how did it turn out?

Yeah actually I am confused so never mind.
Can you feel it, see it, hear it today?
If you can’t, then it doesn’t matter anyway
You will never understand it cuz it happens too fast
And it feels so good, it’s like walking on glass
It’s so cool, it’s so hip, it’s alright
It’s so groovy, it’s outta sight
You can touch it, smell it, taste it so sweet
But it makes no difference cuz it knocks you off your feet
You want it all but you can’t have it
It’s cryin’, bleedin’, lying on the floor
So you lay down on it and you do it some more
You’ve got to share it, so you dare it
Then you bare it and you tear it
You want it all but you can’t have it
It’s in your face but you can’t grab it
It’s alive, afraid, a lie, a sin
It’s magic, it’s tragic, it’s a loss, it’s a win
It’s dark, it’s moist, it’s a bitter pain
It’s sad it happened and it’s a shame
You want it all but you can’t have it
It’s in your face but you can’t grab it
What is it?
It’s it
What is it? ...

Sure, I'd help out. I'm not much of a writer, but as an actor, I have some notion of what "scans well". You can either leave a note here, or TG me to let me know how I can help. :)

P.S. Don't listen to those two jokers. You're creative, so create no matter what anyone else thinks.

Thanks Maineiacs..I know you've read my friend's thread so you understand where I'm coming from. As for the two jokers, I guess you can't call it a joke cause it seems to me that they're the only ones that think it, "whatever it," is funny..

The Continuing Adventures of Disney's frozen body.

Part LXVII. Disney visits a farm.

It was a very clear day at the farm, the sky was blue and the sun had been shining since morning, drying last night's rain. All the animals were excited because farmer John had told them today they would have a very special visitor. Even the buzz of the insects sounded different.

"The visitor," farmer John said, "is the man who created all those characters and stories you enjoy so much."
"But, farmer John, I thought he had died a long time ago." said Pigsy, the pig.
"That's true. But his body has been preserved, frozen, and he's visiting the country in preparation for his reanimation."

The animals all cheered and clapped when they heard the good news, and patiently waited for the refrigerated van that would be bringing Disney to the farm.

Finally, a few minutes after noon, the sound of a gigantic air-conditioning unit was heard in the distance, approaching. Farmer John had explained that to keep the body frozen a especial liquid had to be kept very cold. That liquid was essentially air, but it was so cold that it was not a gas any longer.

As the van made the final turn to enter the farm, out from the bushes came a group of goth animals that no one really liked and every one just made fun of. They were screaming "Stop animal abuse in cartoons!" and threw a couple of frag grenades to the van. The van was not destroyed, but the driver and two technicians had to come out, just to be quickly mowed down by automatic rifle fire.

The air-conditioning unit was destroyed, and the contents of its precious cargo exposed to the summer heat. As the liquified gasses expanded, bubbles of gas formed and began to create explosions here and there, at first small, but growing larger. Pieces of Disney flew here and there, the animals rejoicing for being so close to the man who had given them so many hours of fun.

Weeks later the animals would remember that incident as "the best meal we've ever had."

THE END.

Why is that?
Oh, the typical "fanfics writers are pathetic" thing you see practically everywhere else on the internet, only it is more prevalant here due to most of the users being adults with tastes in fiction leaning more towards the epic/incredibly detailed/authored-by-one-with-incredible-experience such as the Shannara novels. They subsequently tend to not only not care about whatever universe said fanfic uses in the first place, but ridicule the actual writing, forgetting that even the best authors started out with similar junk. At least in terms of the quality. 'Course, I've seen some fanfics that could qualify as practically epic on their own. It's the stigma of so much bad fanfiction out there that everyone sees fanfiction as pure crap regardless.

Me, though, I like it for the fact that it is an incredibly handy resource for an up-and-coming writer. Gives them a set universe and set characters, thus allowing them to practice their writings skills without having to create characters yet. One just needs to be careful not to slip up and become too dependent on that, of course.

i think it's personaly all right and more then alright to tell of large events from the perspective of their impact on personal individual lives, that sort of thing. some excellent speculative writing has been done that way. even some of the best. but i'd like to see more speculative writers accept, even grapple with the realities of peak oil, global warming, and the potential, even probable, eventual colapse of corporatocracy.

i have a love for AFTER the big crunch type stories, i guess it's kind of escape alright, but if fiction doesn't provide escape what IS it good for?

stories, even, perhapse especialy, personal ones, in a world not the today we take for granted, but one after 'the' so called 'end', when there are fewer of a possibly radicly altered us, and nature slowly reclaiming what we today mindlessly devistate.

what we will and won't be able to do and how we'll have to do it to be able to in a world where oil is no longer refined into motor fuels, what little if any is left of it, little if any coal is still being mined, but biomass still heats homes, though combustion is no longer used for very much else.

where tecnology and tecnological innovation hasn't completely died, but what electrical energy is consumed depends upon wind, solar and hydro to generate.

where so much of todays infrastructure that makes todays comfort zones possible that we take for granted is no longer a thing anyone can take for granted but either contributes to in more direct ways of personal involvement or gets along without to the degree they prefer not to.

now THAT i would be, and AM interested in.
