The opinion of the great and wise Generalite...okay, drunk and belligerent works, too

Okay, I'm considering releasing a new ship for my Navy in the Role-Play section and, before I do, I need to decide which picture of the ship to use. I've got two pictures which I'm conflicted over, and I decided to seek some advice from fellow internet junkies before making a final decision.

Now, just so we're clear, I'm not making any claim to having created either this ship or these pictures. The ship I got from FreeSpace, and the pictures I gleaned from the internet. However, I do that for the majority of my ships, so you don't need to tell me about how I'm knocking off the pictures.

Now, this first picture is obviously of superior quality; much better graphics than the second ship. (Votes: II)

However, I feel that this second picture is a better view of the ship, the camer at a better postition to show the ship in its entirety. (Votes: II)

Now, I will crop the second pic so some of the game info is taken out, however some of the targeting brackets will inevitably remain.

Which do you think is the better of the two views?

Oh, and if anybody knows of a third pic that has the firsts quality but the seconds angle, I'd be greatly in your debt.

That is the NTF Iceni, command ship of Admiral Aken Bosch and, once I post it, the newest addition to the Klonor Space Corps (The first ship in the new Frigate class)

That's it? Three responces with only one actual opinion? What a gyp.

You're a FreeSpace fan!?!!?

I am, at least.

But I say the first one, and I'm sober and non-belligerent.

What program did you make that with, DOGA?

Yup, I'm an FS junkies through and through. As you can see from my Fleet (If you journey into the RP sections at all) I've got pretty much solid FS for all my tech needs.

And Velkya, as I say in the opening, I picked these pics up on-line.

I think the second one is pretty, and the first is ominious, depends on what you are looking for......

I pick pretty!!!!!!!!

I like the first better for a roleplay. If it was a storefront, I would say the second.

That was my exact reasoning.

At least I wasn't the only one :)

The first is nice, but the textures on the second look rough and misplaced.

Maybe, but the red-ey/pink-ey cloud stuff works well with the ship in the second

No.2 looks a bit like Lylat Wars for the N64.

OMG, I almost posted the same thing, but didn't then came back to see what you said, and wow. we are like so in sync tonight (not N'sync though they suck)

I was gonna say

"but the second one has PINK!!!!! and the first looks like a stupid video game screen shot"

Isn't that what they call Starfox 64 across the pond?

You know, I was actually going to ask what game they were referring to. The change in titles can be confusing.

Anyway, Smunkeeville, the second pic actually is a screenshot from a computer game (The Aforementioned FreeSpace), and if you have any love for you spleen I wouldn't call any game from that series stupid ever again. There are those who might take exception, and they have access to numerous blunt instruments and unexplored tracts of woodland (hint, hint).

EDIT: And excepting where people said they like both, we're now at two votes for each.

I actually don't have ownership of my spleen anymore but if you find it I would like it back, life isn't the same without it.

I didn't mean to insult your game, had no clue about your game, don't really care about your game. Although I don't like threats, even to organs I no longer posess.

why steal other people's stuff anyway? why not draw your own??

Point One: It's not my game, it's a game that I like. There's a distinct difference.

Point Two: That was clearly a joke, I'm not so immature as to threaten somebody over whether or not they like a video game. I would have thought that would be rather clear when I actually said "(hint, hint)", obviously indicating an extreme overstatement on my part.

Point three: Why not steal other peoples stuff? The ships from the game look nice, the ships come in a shockingly large variety so I have a well-rounded fleet, it's easier than drawing my own, hurts no one since I'm not selling or claiming them as my own, and I'm a huge fan of the game and enjoy having it in my gaming experience whenever I can. Also, I suck ass at using DOGA and other such programs, and since I spend more time using the ships than making them, the finished product matters more than the production process.

Anything else?

good to see you back in general, that being said the first one although better quality, looks like a box a ship needs curves, like a good woman. My vote is the second one :p
