Why is it that whenever the media says someone is charged with a crime EVERYONE always assumes the someone is guilty? It's not even questioned. No jury of your peers, no justice, just the media pronounced you guilty and everyone follows suit.
God help you if you are ever charged with pedophilia. You may be innocent and get aquitted, but that won't make the news and the media will have utterly destroyed your life and career.

In all seriousness though, I doubt the charges will stand unless, which they probably can, they can get a bunch of witnesses from the plane.

It's what sells. I'd suggest government sponsered news, but I doubt our government could be anywhere near as reasonable about it as GB's.

They both give what the people want.
In a private (or "private" wink wink) media, they give what the people are willing to pay for.
In a public media, they give what the people voted for during that election.
A vote is essentially worthless; it amounts to which bubble someone is willing to anonymously fill out and it has very little to do with anything else. The so-called representative system - choose your representative and then opt-out of everything else, including any state owned media publications.
At least with privatization, people are choosing to consume bullshit with their hard-earned dollars. But that doesn't make it any more right, really. Because people are stupid. A person may be smart, but people is what makes these media engines go on. The lowest common denominator.
