All these damn music threads have got me thinkin' about all the not-so-popular bands I liked in high school! So here's your chance to go back in time, sort through and dust off all those memories of the killer, kick ass bands you loved in youth! Here it goes...

Laaz Rockit
Grim Reaper
Helloween
Europe
Twisted Sister
Dokken
Skid Row
Metal Church
King Diamond
Kreator
Sacred Reich
Death Angel
Forbidden
Vio-Lence
Exodus
D.R.I.
Obituary

There's some cheese in this list; no I'm not exactly proud but, nonetheless, they paved the path I chose to follow!

Meh, i'm still in my youth, so...I guess most everything that I listen to counts.

Same here. Only 20, so the 'killer kick ass' bands are the ones I love now. And in most cases will continue to love them for years to come.

I only came into this thread because it was directly below the 'If I could go back in time, I would...' thread. :p

Hair metal?

*Projectile vomit*Aside from Twisted Sister, Dokken and Europe, there isn't much hair metal there. It's mostly thrash metal.

Meh.

I'll stick to grindcore and death metal.

Meh.

I'll stick to grindcore and death metal. There's a lot of good grindcore and death metal...of course, there's a lot of bad grindcore and death metal, too.

I agree. That's true with pretty much any genre.

Nah! The only groups I really don't listen too anymore are Laaz Rockit, Grim Reaper, & Helloween! All the rest still get played on a fairly regular basis! I've gone more towards black/doom & death metal but, I still love that old school thrash & speed! I've become a lot more open minded since high school, too! About the only thing I don't listen to is club/rap! Everything else is cool!

I was going to say that while there are bands that I used to love that I don't listen to as much as I used to (Green Day, for example) I still do listen to them sometimes and for reasons other than nostalgia. I was hoping that this didn't mean my tastes would change instead of expanding like they have been.

I've always been saddened that Barstool Prophets stopped after two albums.
