Ok. As many of you know, I have a hate towards having real-life friends. I have set up metaphorical "walls of diamond" to keep friends away. Meh. Someone has tunneled through them. A girl named Elizabeth. She constantly ragged on me to try to get me to talk to her. More through annoyance than wanting to talk to her, I eventually just decided if talking to her would get her to leave me alone, I might as well. Lots of them. No, it's not on me. It's on you for trying to prove that there are indeed multiple forces at work. The only stimulus I noticed was the addition of a real friend. Anything else is either a biproduct of that or irrelevant.

Lots of them, eh? How informative. By stimuli, I meant the multiple actions of the girl, not the girl herself, or any singular action taken. It isn't a difficult concept to grasp. I had assumed the readers would instinctively realize that.

So, would you prefer my sentence's plurality made apparent?

"This newly acquired stimuli" can be viewed as plural or singular, but requires the foresight and ability to connect the dots, so to speak. One should ask for clarification rather than denying its plurality outright. Perhaps I should revise it to "this newly acquired set of stimuli" to prevent further mystification. That's what I expected everyone to understand without me being forced to demonstrate. Sigh.

Sorry, but you are flat wrong grammatically here. "This newly acquired stimuli" is necessarily wrong. You can choose between "this newly acqired stimulus" and "these newly acquired stimuli"; either of which would be correct (gramatically). However what you posted was so thoroughly ambiguous that it is unreasonable and uneducated to expect anyone to understand whether you meant the stimulus to be considered as singular or plural.

What? Just because I don't want her as my friend doesn't mean I won't be compassionate and let her be my friend. Of course, I will hate her utterly if she's doing this out of pity or because of a bet. I will beat the crap out of whomever made her do the bet, if it is the latter. Meh. In polite company we don't say "fuck buddy".

"Friends that hump" is more appropriate. :D

It's obvious that she is really trying to corrupt you over to the Dark Side of the Force by winning your friendship and trust, then betraying you to Darth Sinister! The only option left for you is to get a long metal operating table, some lime juice, alkali solutions, a length of string, a steel wire cat-o'-nine-tails, a sledgehammer, long tubes of glass, a screwdriver, pliers, and a bucket of piranhas, then lure her into your basement... and the rest isn't really appropriate for a PG-13 forum, but you get the idea. ;)

Well, after that first "chat", she wouldn't leave me alone. So I talked to her some more. And more. And now, I suppose you can call her my "friend". Meh. I hope your happy, Dinaverg.

XD. I am...(then again, rare is the time i'm not). Liz, eh? got a boyfriend...Hmm...I should tell her to try and set you up with one of her single friends...

Buffaw! The only reason I became friends with her was in hopes of her leaving me alone. But then she decided to talk to me more because of it... So unless one of her single friends can look past my voracious amount of zits, I will have no girlfriend for a while. A long while. Like, maybe 250 years, when I've gone through four more lives besides this one, and then the only way I will have one is to brainwash them... I just truely hope her boyfriend doesn't get pissed off...

1) Hell man, they drove me away in the first place. I never actively seek out friends, but I never drive them away either. Problem is, friends only come across me, apparently, every 13 years of my life, as Elizabeth did. Right right....Yeah...You might not be saying things, but you get a lot of understanding from body language, and I can only imagine you ooze anti-social more than pus. Ha. It'd probably be the same with me. Thing is, no one at my school knows what my personality is like. If they did, then it'd be thousands of more reasons for them to stay away from me. I'm a bit siczhotypal. (sp?) And a bit melancholic. And a bit dominant. I doubt I could find anyone who's personality would fit mine. And I don't mean will be like mine. I find love to be like a puzzle. Sometimes, you find a piece with nothing on top or bottom, open on the right, sticking out on the left. This piece obviously can only fit with other pieces like it. In other words, these personalities can only go with other pieces like it. But there are pieces like me, who are open on both sides. We can't fit with each other. Self-injury releases better endorphins, as I know there is no danger to myself. But this guy will cause danger, and make the endorphin release more painful than joyful. And what would Liz do? Break up with him? Hell, she'd probably see me as a wimp because I couldn't defend myself then ignore me. Meh. If that did happen, I'd be happy anyways. And my luck tends to be bad...

You underestimate me. Of course I understand. I agree. It really depends on your standards. I think one should look for:

1. Intelligent, not dumb in the stereotypically "blond" way.
2. Independent, stands up for herself, doesn't have an army of dumb girlfriends.
3. Not giggly.
4. Not a snob.
5. Able to have insightful conversations with.
6. Looks

But that's only if you're serious about the relationship. Otherwise, just find a dumb giggly moron. Most girls are like that.

I've got all those covered. Well, she may be a bit of a snob sometimes, but not often. You forgot one minor thing, though. Find one WHO ISN'T TAKEN.

Here's the thing. If I find someone who isn't taken, it probably means she fufills all of my requirements? Why? Because everyone who is taken probably can't fill my requirements because they fufill the requirements of the average middle-school guy/girl.

There's that too. I was thinking you probably wouldn't care enough to tolerate competition, so you'd never act on it anyway. But there is the off chance that the one you seek could "fulfill the requirements of the average middle-school guy/girl" but at once be much more than their requirements. Or one could be preoccupied with someone else who is equally as eccentric.

I am feeling somewhat sorry for Liz, though. She's such a kind, caring, compassionate individual, but her boyfriend's a total ass. All he'll do is hurt her in the end. I don't want to see her get hurt, but she wouldn't listen to me if I told her what I think about her boyfriend.

I meant you wouldn't tolerate trying to beat it because you would assume you couldn't, which may be true.

Meh. She's not a slut. So I doubt she's not going to have STDs.
You sure do love to toss that term around a lot, don't ya!

Look ... get this through that apparently thick lil skull of yours: "slut" is never, ever an acceptable term to use for a woman; ANY woman.

Well, after that first "chat", she wouldn't leave me alone. So I talked to her some more. And more. And now, I suppose you can call her my "friend". Meh. I hope your happy, Dinaverg.
Go Elizabeth!!!

Take it from me, I've been in that situation. No, she won't listen to you, she won't believe you, and she'll just say you're jealous (and maybe you are, just a little? The guy could still be an asshole, however). All you'll do is ruin your friendship. You just have to decide whether the fact that that will happen if you confront her is worth it to attempt to warn her off this guy. My advice is: if you're truly her friend, support her and when and if her relationship fails, be there to support her through that. Time to learn how to be a man, instead of a whiny, petulant little boy.

What do you think I'm going to do when it inevitably does. She's the only person in any of my schools who has ever looked at me for five or more seconds without thinking I'm a freak. I'm not going to let her be hurt.

Just don't "move in on her" right away if they do break up. She'll need time to recover. If it happens, let it go at its own pace. I wish I could give you advice on how to be the one she picks if she breaks up with this ass, but there isn't anything that can do that. You have to be a big enough man to accept her decision.

I think he should make an eloquent statement of his observations while at once eschewing whininess. After he says his piece, he shouldn't press the issue, that way she respects his opinion because he had courage enough to state things as he saw them but without being a "whiny, petulant little boy." At first she may resent it and lose some trust in him. But if friends don't let friends be scientologists, there is no reason they should let friends waste their time and energies in a worthless relationship. Then when the relationship fails, she will learn to trust his judgment more.

We told you that in the LAST thread, but you didn't listen. Does it really matter anyway? Isn't too late for you? Don't you already care?
