Snow...in late April?!

I'm sitting here at my computer in nice, rural Colorado, and all of a sudden, I see snow. A few minutes later, at time of posting this, it's coming down heavily. This shouldn't be happening. It's late April in the Northern Hemisphere. I've lived in Colorado long enough to know when snow should stop falling, and this is past that point. Global climate change? Luck of the draw? I dunno what it is, but it's really annoying me. I was hoping we'd finally have some nice, warm weather.

It's not uncommon to see snow in June around here. You're lucky. :p

Well, you're in Canada. Colorado might be one of the colder states in the U.S., but even we stop getting snow around late March.

When you've seen snow in August this is unremarkable. No problems are happening, normal. Happens.

Well, I went searching for it but never found it. Care to link me?

Secluded Islands: I thought it was kinda fun up to the point where they had those random wolves in frozen NYC. Then I found myself incredibly annoyed with Hollywood idiocy. I could buy some of what happened, but definitely not THAT.

We got snow last year in Ohio at the end of April; it was 80 on Monday and in the 30's by Friday with 4 inches on the ground.

This year, it's been pretty mild if not warmer than average; even with cold fronts it hasn't dropped below freezing at night since the beginning of the month. I'll take it; it's probably one of the nicest springs we've had since I moved up here.

I live in Arizona. It is, as I speak, close to 80 degrees (Fahrenheit) outside and mercilessly sunny. It's been consistenly over 90 for the past few days, and I suspect we'll breach the triple digits by mid-May...

Can we have some of your snow? Pretty please?

It WILL take a while. I've got older posts on the topic too, somewhere ... just my name and the Archives ought to be enough. It's a recurrent post topic for me, surprise, surprise.

I could buy some of what happened, but definitely not THAT. Understandable. Also, three of the criterion have already been met (from the movie) IIRC. Perhaps more.
Also, we've got another El Nino influence this year, so weather will be a little strange.

Actually Kyronea, April is the third snowiest month in Colorado. Since you've lived here awhile (I'm also in CO), you shouldn't be suprised by snow today even though yesterday was in the high 70s. The weather is always like this in Colorado; if you don't like it ... wait an hour. :)

Well...okay, so I've really only lived here for about four years, but I've yet to see snow in April till today, that's all. 'Course, it's possible my memory is only remembering the huge snow storm of '03.

Straughn: Thank you for the link, good sir.

Shortly after the Chernobyl meltdown, I walked through a radioactive snow-flurry in the Gatineau region of Quebec. Learned it was radioactive after the fact. I do recall at the time, the flakes were peculiarly refractive when the light caught them.

It was very pretty. And no, I haven't yet contracted Cancer, to the best of my knowledge.

I lived in Colorado my entire life until last August when I moved to the east coast. I do not find it at all strange to hear that it is snowing there. I am surprised that my mother didn't call me. :) It can snow through May. :)

Hey, no problem. Desperate Measures and Gymoor II:the Return are both pretty well versed on that particular topic, and i suspect they would be highly helpful as well.

My aunt was born in a massive snowstorm in late April. It's uncommon, but not impossible. And they didn't know about Global warming when SHE was born. :)
