I think this actually raises some valid points. Not that it's a conspiracy. But that marketing tactics *do* appeal to the subconscious. And subconsciously, what do you think of this picture?

it means you drink it from a cup instead of a bottle...

i think the guy has way too much time on his hands and not enough familiarity with the history of advertising

But you're a female.

I think, speaking for 90% of the male population as I do, I am rather jealous of that gatorade bottle.

Nothing about advertisements like that is accidental. It's all very purposeful and planned and reviewed and calculated.

So take a look at the point of intercourse between the bottle and mouth.

The gatorade itself is orange. But what color is it as it's streaming out into her mouth? Take a good look and tell me what color that is. ;)

yeah well, id suggest that its because youre male, not because its particularily provocative. you probably get hot watching a girl eat a banana.

shes not in a sexual position, she is squirting gatorade into her mouth.

there are way nastier ads out there.

Can someone say: Penis obsession?
Okay. If you said anything other than "penis," then you're either a liar, a eunuch, or a Gatorade employee trying desperately to hold onto your job.
Let me get this straight, I'm supposed to think its a penis or I'm castrated.
Alternatively, I'm a conspirator.
I don't know if Basketbawful noticed that the title on his work reads: "The Gatorade Conspiracy". That kinda gives everyone the gist of it.
Please excuse me, but the urge is too great, I must fornicate with my Gatorate bottle now.

Of COURSE it's provocative. This isn't just a picture of some girl drinking gatorade. It's an advertisement; a set-up, it is designed to look exactly the way it is, and only denial will suggest that there's absolutely nothing sexual about it.

shes not in a sexual position, she is squirting gatorade into her mouth.

Well sure, and there are way nastier people out there than Saddam Hussein. But Saddam Hussein is a nasty man all the same.

She's squirting what looks like creamy white gatorade into her mouth, from a phallic shaped bottle, and she's covered in sweat and she appears to be enjoying it. A lot. She doesn't need to be in a sexual position; we get the message just fine.

she is drinking gatorade from a squeeze bottle in the proper manner.

if she had it in her mouth, you would still find it sexual

she doesnt have porn ecstacy on her face, her body isnt in a provocative position. the top is tight and emphasizes her breasts but no nipples and normal size.

everything is sexual, but this isnt really going out of its way to be so.

Of course, the ad is designed to suggest sex, most ads are. They do it because it works on some level, why do you think Camel ciggarettes had so much market power back when they were using that goddamn camel thing?
On the other hand, the guy is full of shit about the bottle, to quote the godfather of sexual suggestion: "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar."

Don't forget how it's orange gatorade in the bottle, but creamy white gatorade as it's being squirted out. Must be a trick of the light, or something?

actually it depends on where the ad ran.

if its in a men's magazine--sports illustrated perhaps--then its meant to be gently provocative. although why associating gatorade with semen would make MEN want to buy it i dont know. (its slightly orange as it goes into her mouth. kinda like orange cream)

if its in a womans/girls magazine-seventeen perhaps--then its just a sporty girl getting a drink.

A) They could assume that, if the hot, slutty chicks like it, they'll like guys who drink it
B) They could fantasize that it was their Semenade going down her throat.

I think I just invented a word. Semenade. God[s] help us if anyone actually ever markets something by that name.

Dude! It's not even slightly orange. It's white! Almost as white as her teeth, and the dispenser top.

Maybe I just don't have as good vision... I admit it's not 20/20. But that looks awful, awful white to me.

And I don't think it really matters what magazine it appears in. Most people of either sex enjoy sex. Reminding someone subconsciously of sex, no matter how you do it, is enough to get the association the marketers are looking for.

Irrelevent to me anyway. Nothing could make me drink Gatorade ever again(I gave it a full three trys a couple of years ago), unless perhaps I didn't know what I was drinking beforehand(I would stop when I realized.)

Gatorade is about the most disgusting drink I have ever tasted. I'm like eww...colorful water with trace amounts of sugar and sodium mixed in. It's not even carbonated like other soft drinks--which is what it is.

It's got stuff water doesn't have...

Well, ya. That's for certain. They must have a really, really good advertisment campaign for a product like that to sell anything. Haveing sexy ads is a matter of survival for them, because they produce such low-quality crap.

As she's drinking it, yes. But the bottle is see-through, and you can see that it is orange, until it comes out.

But the point was that what she's actually drinking isn't orange at all, or anywhere near. Yes, the stuff in the bottle is, but what's coming out of it isn't.
