Power Ranger Villains - Evil or victims of well-marketed racism.
There were a ton of evil villains of the Power Rangers, but the closest to human was the original Rita Repulsa, and she was pretty freaky looking - and probably Japanese. All they want to do is to inhabit the earth with all their "monster" friends. Oh sure, they say "conquer" but who do you think is letting you see them? Zordon, the big head in a jar, on his magic crystal ball. You think he can't edit whatever appears on it?
The Power Rangers present themselves as the "good guys," but if you look closer what are they? The "average" perfect American student who always get good grades and have martial arts and gymnastics skills. So what do they do with their gifts? Pick on Bulk and Skull - two non-mainstream people, one who is chubby. Then, they are selected by Zordon to fight Rita's "evil menace" posed to Earth. They are given powers to fight them - thus making them even better.
Let's look at their name: Power Rangers. Power? Like white power. They also regularly go around using the fascist salute made popular by Hitler and occasionally say "Ranger Power." Ranger Power indeed. The Power Rangers are obviously a bunch of supremacists banded together into a supremacist fighting force by a giant head. You know who else had a giant head? The Wizard of Oz - he used the giant head to strike fear into the hearts of the inhabitants of Oz and control the entire land.
The supremacist fighting force, the "Power Rangers" goes around destroying "monsters" sent to colonize Earth by Rita, a non-American Japanese person in an ugly outfit. They wear special costumes to hide who they really are; they pick on people who are different from them and occasionally kill "monsters"; and finally, they chant "Ranger Power" while copying the Hitler salute. Superhero or racists? You be the judge.
Stay tuned next week for Mario: The Plumber, The Myth, The Homicidal Maniac.
