What a total (but not unexpected) pile of rubbish that new simpsons episode was. (The Ricky Gervais one)
I kept saying it'll be funny when after all the hype nobody likes it.

But did anybody, your opinions of it.

A man finds a genie and he's told he can have 3 wishes but whatever he wishes for his wife will get double.
(thats just the set up)
I wish for a car ah his wife gets two.
I wish for a new house, pow his wife gets two.
I wish I was beaten half to death

Classic. I thought they animated him soo well, all the little stuff hes famous for in the Office. I was on the floor laughing.

Umm...maybe they're talking about an older Simpsons episode that happens to be a new one in the UK?

Perhaps.

I haven't seen the Simpsons in months though. Family Guy either.

lol, no no my friend.
That's Comedy Central. That is FAR different from Comedy Channel. Comedy Channel is Canada's cheap rip off of Central. Far as I know, we gotta wait awhile still.

You really got my hopes up, and you broke my heart.

When will people realise that Gervais isn't funny

i don't find Ricky Gervais' humour particularly amusing. i'm generally pretty open-minded as to what i find funny and what i don't, but i just... don't find him funny. simple as (apart from his Politics stand-up which was ok...)
that episode was more Gervais humour than standard Simpsons humour (which i do like)... so.... *shrugs*

however, the company was fantastic :D :fluffle: (glitziness woot!)

Gervais is the funny one in the Simpsons-Gervais pairing. The Simpsons has been bad for well over 7 years. Could be more, but I stopped caring a long time ago. The office on the other hand knew when to stop (like most good British shows, it didn't try to over-milk the cash cow).

The Simpsons are awful. Futurama was good. So why is it the first is still running while the second is cancelled? Injustice, I tell ya.

And South Park was only ever good for one thing: "BLAME CANADA!"

It got a little William S. Burroughs-ish.

Then it should be considered good news that a couple of sources i read a little while back say there's a full length movie next year. :)

it was more then terrible. it was an absolute waste of my time to even think about watching it. i was expecting something really really good, given that their previous shows were getting better and better.

then they show this crap:headbang:

That joke was actually on the simpsons? Dammit they're getting short of material, that joke is older than I am.

The simpsons is just awful now, just cancel it so some people still have a good memoery of it. I used to love it but the newer episodes are just so awful that all fond memories of it have been erased.

I'm really confused. What Simpsons are you people watching? The episode I got Sunday was a "tales from the sea" episode which, while the Mutiny on the Bounty parody yeilded some chuckles, was mediocre to be sure, but I'm missing the whole Ricky Gervais thing as his episode, "Homer: This is your wife", aired here a month ago.

A month ago. Are you folks really a month behind on new Simpsons's?

The right time for the office to stop was 12 minutes and 27 seconds into the first episode.

Simpsons: Someone needs to put this old dog to sleep.
Family Guy: It goes from low brow to utterly retarded around the fourth season. Although funny at times it's genuinely very unclever.
Futurama: I still love this show even though I'm not openly laughing throughout most the episode.
The Boondocks: My new favorite cartoon that has a lot of potential.

you forgot:

South Park: has potential in numerous episodes, but completly ruins it with certain epiodes that may or may not have oprah in it.

Futurama. The site listed 2007 as the release year. I found that a month or two ago.

I agree that this particular episode was pretty dire. I think The Simpsons can be pretty variable - it started out not very funny, got very funny then lost the plot for a bit and was pretty awful. Nowadays it seems to depend on which writers are involved - i've seen hilarious new episodes and exceedingly dull ones.
