Since Mexico want's to dictate US policy in immigration. I would like to highlight some items of there own treatment of immigrants and visitors. Many of course whom are legal and some illegal. Feel free to add your own news stories. Also would like to add how they treat Guatemala border too.

I went to Tijuana once when I was younger. I didn't break [too many] laws, however I can tell you I was able to cross into Mexico with no problem, and no papers or bureacracy. Tell me something, should I have been expelled for entering their country illegally?

I know several horror stories of friends travelling in Mexico. Being robbed at gun point by banditos and then further victimized by local police, seemingly acting in concert. I wouldnt go back again and would let my family go there.

so? it wouldn't matter if mexico didn't allow anyone to enter the country ever - the arguments in favor of open borders and amnesty here would remain exactly as strong as they are now. which is to say 'essentially indisputable'.

*snip*

If the Mexican government has oppressive policies, that justifies the US in oppressing anyone that comes from Mexico.

There is no reason we should set a higher standard for the US than Mexico sets for itself.

Almost no one argues that the US should open its borders because the Mexican government says it should. There are other reasons.

The US needs a more reasonable, fairer immigration policy. So does Mexico. The difference is that Mexico needs it even more than the US and they also have a lot more to fix.
