Boys in Girl Pants

since i'm such a hipster i finally went out and bought some exceedingly tight and revealing girl pants.

and i must say i look mighty fine.

but as with any fad originating from a sub or counter culture there's been some backlash from the klansman type retrosexuals, and i'd very much like to hear from you.

so once again, i'm using the extremely random and unbiased sample of NSers in an attempt to gauge public opinion.

In all honestly-

tight and revealing pants work good on girls becuase their bodies are more physically attractive. The reason guy's pants aren't very tight and revealing is because the majority are pretty damn ugly physically and even if they're average looking, they don't exactly have the curves in all the right places to be appealing in tight attire.

I mean seriously, imagine just about any non-muscular average guy wearing tight short shorts and then your average woman wearing the same pants. Which appeals more? lol.

I personally don't like it but I think it's just a fad. It's not much worse than the whole ghetto baggy pants-down-to-your-ankles thing.

Yes, and if you're going to wear girl pants, atleast put on some kind of underwear. I don't want to know what religion you are by looking at the pants you wear.

...It's disturbing.

Really, and cutting off the blood flow to your penis will cause it to fall off.

...Unless you want that, and to that I say: Ew.

Also, as a man who isn't into any of the subcultures or groups, I find it funny to watch the groups. I remember in the younger years, the punks. I loved the punks. Then came the goths, which is alright, if they dress like sluts with no selfesteem. Now we've got the emo subculture. I'm sorry, but middle class white kids have too much free time and money. Maybe if mommy and daddy didn't pay for everything and think you have ADD when you won't do your school work, and get you drugged up because of that, yet, you can sit down and play halo2 for nine hours, we wouldn't have a problem. Sadly, we do, and I don't like that.

I hate emos, and emos are known for wearing girls pants and being bisexual. I've got nothing against their sexual choice. (Though when a virgin girl tells me she's bisexual and she's not been penitrated by a male, that I do raise a few flags to.) It's the whining that really gets to me.

"My life is shit. No one will ever love me./I'll never love again. *slits wrists*"

I'm sorry, that just wants to make me punch a baby in the face. Also, I've got a bit of a head rush going on. Anyway more to the point.

I don't care how good it makes your ass look, it's not worth it. My penis and I have a very personal relationship. I'd just hate to lose it because I wanted to make my ass look good.

sorry, i should have elucidated. i was referring to queer culture, from which the emo fucks appropriated transvestitism.

i may have tight pants and sideways hair, but i'm fairly emotionally stable, and i have rather odd taste in music (mainly lounge music from the 50s, psychedelia from the 60s and 70s, and synth pop from the 80s).

It's one of the most enduring mysteries of Manliness. You can wear cotton boxers and still be manly. You can wear cotton briefs and still be manly. You can wear silk boxers and still be manly. But the minute you try on silk briefs your manliness drops to zero. Nobody knows why.

Also, on a sort of related note: Women in boxers = Hotness.

Having worn tight clothes before... yeah.

They do not facilitate ease of movement. They make it more difficult.

The easiest garmets to move in are those that are loosest (so long as they aren't so loose that you start tripping over the hem of your trousers, that is).

I'm imagining that you look cute in them, plus you say you look "mighty fine" (which may or may not have effected my opinion). So I say go for it - just as long as they are nice trousers, but I can't imagine a gay guy buying ugly clothes.

i was reading this fashion magazine (which i don't do all that often...just for the record. i really truly don't wanna look like a bimbo) and they were interviewing these top designers about latest fashions and stuff.

all these people agreed that skinny leg jeans, which have been big for the last two seasons for girls and recently emo guys have started wearing, are actually better suited for the male physique, which curves less.

personally, i don't really like that fashion on anyone. tight pants on guys are kinda scary. and unless you happen to have the build of a twig,(like this: ||) skinny leg jeans make chicks look like bowls. like this \/. which i think is kinda weird.

If Jlo looks like flaming crap in these things, why the hell does Mellany Thunderthighs think her spare tires are going to look good in these things.

That said, I don't care if some guy wants to wear a pink effing tutu. Guys don't look good.

since i'm such a hipster i finally went out and bought some exceedingly tight and revealing girl pants.

and i must say i look mighty fine.

but as with any fad originating from a sub or counter culture there's been some backlash from the klansman type retrosexuals, and i'd very much like to hear from you.

so once again, i'm using the extremely random and unbiased sample of NSers in an attempt to gauge public opinion.

Eh, most of my pants are man-pants, so it'd be stupid for me to be against men wearing girl-pants.

Though I don't think I'd have anything against that even if I wore girl pants often (but dammit, they're all too tight, with not enough fabric in the crotch and too much in the back to that when you sit down everyone can see your underwear).

People should just wear whatever the hell they want regardless of what sex the clothes are originally made for.

I'm a flippin giant, and an arrogant one at that (as I've already called myself a metrosexual) and I manage to get pants that look good, which are made for men. If he can't find exact size pants, he should get them tailored although going the girl route does not prove anything.

I have to disagree a little bit- Guys wearing gal pants are waay better than the ridiculous pants-down-to-your-ankles fad. I would probably never get myself a pair of feminine trousers, but the other day my mother presented me with some nice pants. I tried them on and discovered that the button and hole are on the reverse of what I usually wear (ie. they are women's). Still, they look nice enough. I do have pretty good-looking thighs for a guy ;-)

I'm still waiting for the tunica to come back into fashion. And no pants. Honestly. Who wouldn't want to wear a single piece garment that is simple and elegant, allows you to go commando, and is the most effective at hiding unwanted errections while simultaneously providing easy access?

Hell, it works for me.

Then again, of course, being of Scottish extraction, I'm 'naturally' not entirely averse to the whole easy-access-garment domain of fashion.

It's not that unusual in the goth community, the fetish community, or the 'cyber' industrial community, actually.

Hell, I even know 'metalheads' that wear girl-cut jeans for the fit.

Why, oh WHY would you want to wear girl-pants? I don't go in for GIRLS wearing girl-pants, much less guys wearing them. What sort of lunacy has posessed you?

Worse than that, what's with the "mainstream" transvestitism? Girls aren't supposed to look like guys, and guys aren't supposed to look like girls. I prefer to be able to tell the difference at a glance. This includes wearing cross-gender clothing. Go learn to be a guy, and then maybe I'll give you the time'o'day.

supposed by whom? if a guy dresses up like a girl, he's still a guy. thus whatever he looks like is what a guy looks like. he may also look like a girl, but he cannot cease to look like himself, ie, a guy.

I prefer to be able to tell the difference at a glance.

Thinking about it, I do believe I have a pair of Lucky's left behind by my ex when we seperated. I appreciate the fit, since it's hard for me to find jeans that I like, much less jeans that fit well. And no, they're not incredibly tight. In fact, they're loose enough to wear over my massive knee-brace.

In actuality, I dont even remember which pair of Lucky's were hers...

Course, I still gotta go with soccer shorts...

Yeah. Because some designer somewhere arbitrarily selected one series of cuts to be 'Girls'' (or Womens') and one set of cuts to be 'Boys'' (or Mens').
Khadgar
23-04-2006, 01:36
Why do women's pants flare out at the bottom like that? One cut of jeans is more comfortable for men. The other, well, I'm fairly sure women don't really go for comfort.

It's all about marketing. By labeling jeans as male or female in design, it's 'targeting' an audience. Regardless of whether either gender could wear those clothes.

that smells like sexism.
I'm a man and a like pants with a bit of a 70s retro look or in a cool colour and velours etc, and you can imagine it's hard to find those in men's fashion and I sometimes (have to) buy women pants. But that's just because I like the way those particular pants look AND they have to be at least a bit comfortable.
I hope we're not still thinking in terms of "women (have to) chose a nice design" and "men (have to) chose whatever they feel comfortable in".
I never think of myself as a metrosexual, 'cause it really is not that I really want to wear feminine clothing or something (I don't think a do (besides some pants perhaps, but who notices?), I just wanna wear what I like (don't most people?).
Perhaps, it's only a thought, metrosexuals are a bit ahead because they don't like that oldfashioned sexism.

Wow, you read way too much into crap. I'm not a big style concious person, hell jeans and a t-shirt is as dressed up as I get, infact I don't own any pants that aren't jeans. Not a single pair.

I've seen some of the stupid torturous crap women put themselves through in the name of vanity. Including picking clothes based upon how they look rather than how they actually fit.

Well you know, for a while there was really no such thing as 'girl-pants'. There were just pants, and they were supposed to be worn by men, and women were supposed to wear skirts and dresses.

Women have been wearing a lot of clothes that were typically male for a long time. Some people even seem to like it when women dress in certain articles of typically male clothing (I though I heard someone say something about girls in boxers being hot...?). So why is there this great uproar when men start to do the same thing in reverse?
