okay, everyone take a deep breath and close your eyes. Well, okay, close them after you're read this:

Think of a nice glass... you're pouring ice cubes into it, or not, as your preference dictates... you pour some alcoholic liquid into said glass... you sit down on the couch, put your feet up on the table.. yous significant other yells at you, "Get your damn feet off the..." ERR, where were we?

Ahhh, yes, the nice seat on the couch, the nice glass of alcohol in your hand...

It's you in this picture. What's your liquor of choice?

Please vote and discuss.

Um, yeah, I would have been very surprised if it was Polish, seeing how they serve it in all the Chinese restaurants here. Not that that makes a very strong case for it being Japanese either, but eh.

Well, i'm guessing that one is somewhat sweet since you mentioned rum, whereas the one I had was a rather offensive bitter flavour that didn't sit well with the strong alcohol content.

Unless it does have that same awful flavour, in which case i'll just stare blankly at you.

Egads, no! It's not bitter at all. Note to self: do not drink Polish plum wine. o.O

It's a very full-bodied taste, very rich and sweet with just the right amount of tartness. Mmmmmhhhhh :fluffle:.

I'd still think that somebody who's into whisk(e)y (and beer, heh) would find it way too sweet. And it's obviously not something you'd drink in large quantities. Well, let me qualify that - you can totally drink it in large quantities as long as you use small enough glasses to not notice what you're doing. :p

Yeah, sweet generally isn't my bag, but neither was this plum crap. I don't know if it was Polish, but I think so. It was East European, I know that much. Maybe one of the Poles on here'd know. It wasn't a wine, either, it was a hard liquor.

Yeah, it's 15%, which is about what Bailey's and Martini has. Tastes definitely a lot stronger than wine (but that may be partly due to the sweetness, too) but obviously doesn't qualify as hard liquor.

I'd probably be under the table after one whiskey on the rocks, unless I practiced. :p

I generally don't care much for Vodka either, but i've had some nice stuff that wasn't mass produced. It does have a flavour, just not a strongly noticeable one like a lot of liquors. Except for cheap vodka, which tastes strongly like mouthwash.

Quite, actually. French Vodka from wine grapes distilled 5 times...very very smooth. Not so great for mixing b/c of the grape flavor, but excellent for shooting or sipping on for the same reason.

Krolewska is a really good Polish vodka. My bottle of the stuff is about 3yrs old now (I only break it out for special occasions..) and it just gets better over time. Very smooth.

Southern Comfort - whatever the hell that is classed as.

It is crappy American Whiskey flavored with crappy peach schnapps.

Bell's whisky is alright, though I'd generally opt for vodka over anything else.

Crown Royal has got to be my favourite although some dark Cap't Morgans will suffice in a pinch. I'm not one to sit down and put my feet up though, I'd rather just get pissed with friends (but hey, I'm 18, that's what I'm supposed to do right?)

One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, four.
Five tequila, six tequila, seven tequila, floor.

Well, I only made it to six and couldn't find any more, which was just as well I suppose.

Favorite would probably be ouzo though.

i can't drink tequila, and haven't been able to stomach it (keep it down) for about 10 years.

Ahhh, the college days... walking a mile to a party, only to get left, by your asshole friends, at a stranger's house... sitting on the stranger's couch, watching Martin Lawrence do his thing on HBO... with a 750 mL bottle of Cuervo Gold in your hand.

Drinking about three-fourths of the damn thing...

stumbling home, all the way back across State Street (Madison, WI) to Sellery A (dorm) at the corner of Park and Johnson.

waking up in the bottom bunk the next day... with a brown splotch on the tile dorm-room floor, next to the bed.

feeling like absolute hell, puking out the guts (almost literally)... then the awful stomach cramps... then heaving for about an hour.

then going across Johnson to some convenience store, still in the skimpy Michigan mesh shorts for bed-time... the camouflage Special Forces Lakeland Football bed-time t-shirt...

picking up the largest lemon-lime Gatorade in the store... and a 40ish-ounce Sprite from the soda fountain there...

returning to the dorm room, in bed-time clothes, lugging 5 pounds of (hopefully) rejuvenating liquids... still probably blowing about a .12 blood alcohol level, even though it's 10-12 hours after that last hateful sip of tequila...

spending the rest of the day, the entire day, feeling like crap, despite the healing powers of the Gatorade (for energy and rehydration) and Sprite (to settle the stomach).

THAT is why i can't drink tequila. If someone's doing tequila shots... i suddenly have to take a leak and can't do one. The memory of the pain of that day somehow has stayed in my mind, such that when the word "tequila" or sight of such disgusting liquid is witnessed (pavlov rings the dinger), I feel my gorge rise (opposite of the dogs' reaction).

I've no taste for tequila anymore either. It can put a hurtin on you like nothing else can.
On day two of my worst hangover ever, I promised not to drink it again if I survived.

Kinda stinks as I have an unopened bottle of Cabo Wabo tequila someone gave me as a gift.

I'll take it off your hands, if you want...

I do like my tequila. Straight, with lime'n'salt, with coke...whatever really.

Hey, that's my cure.

Well, actually, I find iced coffee gets rid of the shitty acidy feeling (and gives a caffeine fix as a bonus), and sprite keeps it that way.

i remember going there with 7-Up on my mind... as 7-Up seems to have a bit less syrup in it -- to my taste, it's a bit drier than Sprite.

i can take JUST A LITTLE of it, if it's part of a Long Island Iced Tea.

Have you tried that?

Apple schnapps all the way. Got this stuff from Austria called ApfelKorn. Got an awesome taste, a good kick, and to top it all off, it's cheap :)

Tequila, straight from the bottle. Or in shots.
