I spent most of yesterday getting my "new" car roadworthy: new tires, new shocks, complete engine diagnostics, front-end work, etc. Even though the car is old, it's hot! ( kinda like its owner! Heh! )
Just a few more things to do to it: repack the differential, get all the power windows working properly, and have it painted. I'll post a picture as soon as I get it painted ... fire engine red! Woo hoo! :D
And the nicest thing about it is, I don't owe a dime on it! Ditto for my home. I'm definitely on a roll, campers! :)

Good morning, boys and girls!
What time is it where you are? It must be really early...?
I think your enthusiasm for life should be infectious. It would be a much nicer thing to catch than bird flu. :p

:) Cool.
:( September's when I'm going to start paying back debt. And I'll most likely be owing money until I'm about 70. Yay for capitalism.
Well, good morning to you too! It's noon here, but what do I care, I've been up for almost 30 mins. :D I love vacations...

LOL! But I am! I am! I would let you ask certain people, but a gentleman never tells! :D
It's a 1988 Crystler Park Avenue, with a very well-maintained engine, and a fairly "clean" body. It has a partial vinal top that someone painted blue from the original black, but that's going to come off. The interior is in great shape, and is mostly leather.
The color is currently white, and there doesn't seem to be any rust. I paid $500 for it, which I consider almost stealing it! Getting the new tires, shocks, etc. cost me about $700, so I currently have about $1,200 in it. By the time I'm done, I estimate it will have cost me about $2,000 to buy it and make it roadworthy. Not bad for what will be a decent car which will be able to travel long distances at speed, and tow virtually anything I decide to put behind it. :)

Eutrusca- You mean a Chrysler Fifth Avenue OR a Buick Park Avenue?
Either way- best of luck-both are good luxury cars.
A few other things to consider doing right away- Change the oil and filter, new belt(s), new hoses and a new radiator cap.
A new fuel and air filter couldnt hurt either. Unless the previous owner provided proof this was recently done.

Foolish mortal. Hope is nothing to death when it comes to making up a funky and unusual death. I can see it now...
You'd be driving back to your house one day, when you find out that the brakes have given way. No problem you think, you're going slow, and the emergency brakes are there.
But when you do engage the emergency brakes, for some strange mechanical problem that has a 0.00000001% chance of occuring results in the gearbox grinding into 5 and the gear stick snapping off in yours hands. Almost immediately, your car shoots forward at 80mph and rising, slamming you into your seat as it careens like an out of control horse. You fight the steering, valiantly trying to keep the car in control.
But just when it looks like you might succeed and put it somewhere hopefully soft, you drive over some broken glass a drunk left after smashing his bottle the last night.
Tires go out with an explosive boom and suddenly, your car is leaving behind a spark trail in a wild spin.
As luck would have it, your car smashes of a sign post, dinging the paint and rupturing the fuel tank. The explosion sends your car and you hurtling into the air in a graceful arc before landing in a great heap through your kitchen window, creating a raging fire that quickly consumes your home.
Or maybe you just die of old age at 120 years you crusty fogey :p
